  1. ok, I guess... A look at the Pohlad's earlier this week:
  2. Thanks for the list Nick. Hard to argue with any of these, but I would have added Perkins's final game as well. It was great to see him out there again after the labrum issue, and seeing his emotion in the dugout and afterwards, you knew his career was over. https://www.mlb.com/news/glen-perkins-may-have-pitched-final-twins-game-c257001106
  3. Ive gone in the past, I should have worded it differently. As it is at a new venue, will there be food available to order like there was at Brothers? Since its an event center, rather than bar/restaurant.
  4. As a "fat kid", I need to know; will there be food available during the event?
  5. "Sell more than pink and sequined women’s apparel." My wife (Ashley) gets no annoyed with this. She sees a shirt that looks nice, then takes a closer look and 90% of the time its bedazzled (the other 10% of the time is way too expensive). Ashley is as big of a Twins/baseball fan as I am. she knows the game, the players, the rules. We've been at a games where someone does something bone headed (eg forgetting to tag up) and she will yell (very sarcastically) "what are you doing?!", and more than once she has had a dudebro (thank you for using this term Mary), try to mansplain the rules. She just looks them straight in the eye and says "it was rhetorical" Other Ashley story. She loves Marney, like we all do. Marney's job is Ashley's dream job. Once in KC, we were by the camera well before the game, where Marney sits. Ashley wanted to tell Marney how much she admires her, the job that she does, and just that she thinks she's great. It came out as "Marney, you're my hero". Marney took is in stride, but Ashley felt so dumb so saying that. Thanks for this series Mary.
  6. "I want blue to keep it fair." missed opportunity for "I want Deep Blue to keep it fair"
  7. To quote Herm Edwards, " You play to win the game!". It's not "you play to uphold unwritten rules that have been in the game before black players were allowed to play and before HRs were hit at record paces". Should Cave have taken a pitch? probably, but he saw a pitch to hit, and he did, thats the point of the game. Hitting Kep, who literally had nothing to do with that, is just ridiculous. If unwritten rules were worth anything, they'd be written down
  8. I didn't hear Bremer say that, but the official Team report was subluxation, which is kind of like a dislocation. I'm guessing that Dick used "separated" as a synonym for "dislocated", as it is in lay terms. But in medical terminology, especially with the shoulder, it means something very different. Shoulder separation happens at the AC joint, where the collarbone meets the front part of the shoulder blade, and you are right, it can never fully heal. subluxation and dislocation of the shoulder happen in the cup and ball joint itself.
  9. If they dont do anything, I'm gonna really regret not getting tickets to the BP even at TF. Thad might want to bring a poncho or some old clothes for when he gets pelted with rotten produce.
  10. as the father of a 4 and 1 1/2 year old, I think I will enjoy this series. But dont leave us hanging, whats a "triple-home run'? a 3 run HR? back to back to back HRs? three HRs in a game? something completely different that only Buxton could accomplish somehow?
  11. Great as always, but you can tell this is satire, because after living in KC from 2011-14, I can tell you, no one cared about the team this much to have these feelings. No one cared until 2014, and that only lasted 2-3 seasons.
  12. Putting the Smetlzer stuff aside (its an amazing story and I got choked up when they talked to his parents, but I have nothing new to add to it) that was a fun ball game to watch. Both teams had chances, both pitchers locked down with RISP. Twins got a lucky bounce (off of Castro's helmet) and took advantage of it. Brewers tried to come back, but couldnt. It was just a fun game to watch. I like #Bombas as well, but sometimes a tense, close game is a nice change of pace.
  13. I have said this many times before in forums here, Twins Daily hasnt made me a bigger Twins fan, but it certainly has made me a smarter Twins fan. Thanks to everyone involved.
  14. "Beautiful summer day outside, and I’d go to the Metrodome, sit in a seat that faced the visitor’s bullpen" *chef's kiss* I have a seat from the metrodome in my house, its in a room with all my Twins memorabilia. It is set up at a 45 degree to anything of interest, out of respect for its history.
  15. "I will be staying in Ft. Myers and watching a lot of minor league baseball." The most On Brand sentence for Seth ever...
  16. I second all the comments about the anatomy of the achilles/heel and the uncertain nature of healing of the body. Plus, I always have to remind myself, that something being "healed" and back to 100% to me and my life is very different from being "healed" and 100% to a pro athlete.
  17. Im like a goldfish when it comes to Pineda being on this team. I read or hear something about him, then immediately forget hes on the roster 3 seconds later. Im excited to see him pitch this year
  18. Damnit Seth! Don't harsh my Tortuga buzz!
  19. If Manfred and MLB were TRULY concerned about pace of play they would cut down the length between innings (especially national games), but they wont because thats where the ad revenue comes in. Universal DH: yes, but Im a millennial in an AL city, so its all Ive truly known. Pitch clock: sure, as long as the rules for the batter are also enforced (one foot in box between pitches, no stepping out to pay homage to Nomar Gaciaparra) 3 batter min: Im not sure how I feel about this one, in theory it makes sense. but I could see it cause more unforeseen problems. 26th spot: absolutely. the game has changed and pitching staffs are bigger than anyone in the 80s could imagine. Anti-tanking: like other said, the draft is such a craps shoot anyway. and this punishes fans more. maybe make it a monetary fine/penalty for the owners. I think the biggest change that needs to happen, but it has to be part of the CBA rather than an executive change is pay for minor leaguers and change in service time/minimum salary/arbitration system.
  20. I havent read the article yet, but I just wanted to say I appreciate the Rocko's Modern Life reference in the title. carry on...
  21. Thanks for posting these. That looks like so much fun. Clyde is a great guy too. Truly respects and reveres the game and its history. Plus how he got the job in the first place is a good story.
  22. I remember Berrios in a post game interview after his first career win, and basically saying "only 299 more to go".
  23. Cant wait for next saturday. now the important stuff: Do we know what beers 612 is providing?
