  1. A little disappointed there wasnt a star wars reference.
  2. "Faints a lot." I do believe that is called "The Vapours", I do declare...
  3. So, its totally cool if I eat a full helmet nacho? right? maybe I need to check other projections to see if I'm called out...
  4. Last year, I went to a Saints game early in the season, I think it was the 2nd home game. it was cold and dreary. start to sprinkle, so they started in a delay. There were a group of 4 guys with 2(!) of the Land of 10,000 calories monstrosities. They planned on taking them down during the game, they were interviewed by the in stadium crew, having fun, dudes just being dudes. 20 min later the game was officially postponed as the rain came in. They had barely made a dent. I felt so bad for those guys, spending all that money to do something stupid with friends. but it probably was for the better that they couldnt attempt it.
  5. Im a STH (or MyTwins member 🙄), and I got an email yesterday saying that you DO NOT need to pay for the ESPN streaming in order to get the twins.tv. heres it pasted from the email. Your 2026 subscription will be renewed in the same fashion through Twins.TV, and you will be able to stream all Twins games (except exclusive national broadcasts) via Twins.TV. You do NOT need to purchase the ESPN app to stream Twins baseball in 2026. TwinsTV linear options (e.g. cable, satellite, OTA, etc.) remain consistent in 2026 as well. There are no changes to the production or graphics of Twins.TV as a result of the MLB/ESPN partnership.
  6. Dick Bremer had a great anecdote about the '87 hanky in his book. something along the lines of; he got one of the first hankies ever made because he was a team employee and they wanted some feedback. He thought it was dumb, and wouldnt catch on (I think he was the only one that thought that since they went ahead with it). He tied it to his car's antennae, then sometime during the WS run he came out and someone had cut it off. So somewhere out there, someone has one of the first homer hankies ever made that is missing a corner. because they stole it from Dick Bremer's car.
  7. He was blocked by a judge from doing so. It wasnt his decision.
  8. And if Carl had his way in 2001 there wouldnt be the Twins either.
  9. I think there too much apathy to boo, which IMO is worse. on a related note, during Koskie's HOF induction, when they were listing the since-passed members of the Twins HOF. I boo'ed very long and very loud for Carl Pohlad. I got a nasty look from some old lady in front of me. I dont care. screw that old bastard
  10. Also, in the spirit of the article, there needs to be a reaction (like the heart, thumbs up/down) that is just a emoji face with a blank stare
  11. I look forward to my kids yelling at me "I learned it from watching YOU, DAD!"
  12. Not to get too political/offensive, but but the papacy/Catholic church is the perfect allegory for the Sox. An incredibly rich owner/Vatican that hoards wealth, and gives lip service to helping those less fortunate and marginalized but ultimately doesnt walk the walk/improve the team.
  13. Nope, good satire punches up, not down (otherwise its just bullying). and there's no one higher than the pontiff. I liked it Lou.
  14. We had 4 or 5 meetings of that advisory council last year, and I'm still not super sure how the whole thing works, other than now things that STH got for "free" as perks of being a STH, now we have to use points to get them.
  15. Point of clarification: I am NOT defending how the team has been run, but I was on a season ticket holder advisory board last year. and they changed their season ticket model, so they look less at "full season equivalents" and more on how much money people spend. eg. instead of the flex 40 plan (40 ticket vouchers to use as wanted), then now have different monetary levels (I think its like $300 up to $6000, or something). so sayin that there is fewer than 10,000 season ticket holders is probably factually true, I dont think the team is looking at it this way. AGAIN, no defending how this team is run or the points made in the article. just trying to give some other info.
  16. I mean, if hes out there throwing towels instead of balls, then there really isnt a place for him on the team 😉
  17. I am doctor. If anyone needs a doctor's note for opening day. I got you. My clinic manager has told me that any PTO request has automatic approval if its sports related, which is nice. ETA: also, with the resurgence of vaccine-eradicated diseases (*sigh*), feel free to pick measles, or polio or something similar.
  18. “Think about how cool a grand slam would be if (Matt) Waller was riding a dragon around the bases,” added the Twins source. “I’d like to see Comcast or DirecTV try that.” well, obviously to see that kind of stuff you need to stream HBOMax.
  19. They are doing a native american heritage bat giveaway as well. and if the lines (and ebay prices) for the glove giveaway were any indication, that will be a highly sought after one too.
  20. Mainly dodgers, but now that you mention it, both probably.
