  1. I like to think I am only slightly below average in intelligence, but I'm finding it hard to find the game threads and thread to piss and moan about this terrible team after the game. Do I have to go to the Front Page to do the latter? Where are game threads? I know some of this has changed over time but I haven't been here often enough to follow each change. For what it's worth I suspect there might be others that don't stick here because those are the more interesting threads.
  2. I assume this is where someone says when the weather warms up the ball will start flying again. Two things happen. Sano gets better The Yankees start hitting more home runs than everyone else.
  3. Honestly I don't think this was policy in 2019. I know for a fact we still had to take stuff out of our pockets, and I'm pretty sure I'd remember if my wife had to manage not taking even an average sized purse. I thought the NFL was allowing clear bags under a certain size, that wasn't tiny? Or did that change, too?
  4. Thankfully we went before gates opened and were warned by a friendly security guy in advance that this year there are no bags of any kind except tiny purses. Tiny tiny purses. This in theory is to speed up lines and eliminate the need to look at bags. Anyway, even as a STH that gets all of the messaging, this came as news to us. So don't get burned having to make a trip back to your car if you go to a game.
  5. This is spot on. I've been a full STH since 2008, yet I was thrown into the browser battle with all of the 20 game people at 10 a.m. on a Thursday or whatever it was. I was able to be in the system at that time, but I still lost the fight against my web browser. It's absolutely ridiculous that I've paid the Twins over $9,300/yr for over ten years and I still have to play games like this. They don't make much distinction between levels of STH, and that is just flat out bad business. They should have given us at least a day or two of right of first refusal on an offering, and then turned whatever was left over to the rest of the STH and general public.
  6. Considering how much effort the Twins put into trying to get people to come to games and buy tickets, they have no clue how to manage season ticket holder customer service. They are all focused on sales over service.
  7. I missed out on OD tickets by about 5 minutes. I was extremely pissed by that time. How they would sell tickets to "STH" and then to the public without a risk free experience to full STH is absolutely beyond belief for me. What a terrible way to reward your most loyal "customers". I did get a variety of tickets for other games, but they were spread around, as opposed to the Club Level where my regular seats are. On the upside I'm spending less for the less reliable weather games, so there's that.
  8. I can share that the season ticket holder presale was a terrible experienced. It crashed on me for the first 30 minutes until I switched over to Microsoft Edge.
  9. Since this thread has been quiet for four days...an interesting counter narrative was built in today's letters to the editor. I didn't realize it until it was pointed out, but every single story of adulation and picture with a sports figure has been with or from a male athlete or colleague.
  10. Considering they were ahead of schedule (way ahead, something like 2-4 years IIRC) as of now at worst it appears they may just revert to being back "on schedule".
  11. Wow talk about not even waiting for the body to be cold.
  12. Well that was fun while it lasted.
  13. OK I'm surprised because the video and audio guy we are complaining about is. I recycle them as soon as I get them.
  14. I went through the Yearbook that was mailed to me as a season ticket holder and didn't see any reference to Sue Nelson. I'd be interested if anyone saw anything, but if I am correct, they may have phased her out this year.
  15. St. Peter I believe is responsible for ballpark experience. Someone reports to him that is the man or woman on the ground.
  16. On a related note it appears that they have given the organist the year off. That's unfortunate because it would at least be tolerable as a baseball sound.
  17. I was trying to say the same thing you did in a more concise way, and I don't have an issue with anything you're saying. I suspect you and I are in the same line of work.
  18. An entity like "Pohlad Family Foundation" is how a wealthy person creates a charitable organization that they are in control of, but because they have the proper filings with the IRS it allows them to make tax deductible gifts, essentially to themselves. Not to take anything away from them, but they can gift appreciated personally held assets into this foundation, and then sell them at no tax cost.
  19. I wonder if the 15% is a standard across the league? I'm wondering what the reason for the incentive is? Preemptively assuming STH renewals will be down due to economic conditions?
  20. I can't believe no one has mentioned "As They See 'Em", a book about the life of being an umpire. It's a great baseball read about a subject few people learn much about.
  21. He is being pushed out. They want a new look. He doesn't like it, and is working it into conversations whenever he gets the chance. Typical Blyleven.
  22. Why the ballpark can't get the local breweries on a tap is what is most remarkable. They are missing a big marketing opportunity both ways.
  23. I love all of this. Unfortunately when it will come to official team marketing, they are all franchises of the same organization, so the franchises will be forced to remain silent on the subject.
  24. What a shock to hear Blyleven is grinding an axe in public.
