  1. They both look like possibilities. Right now IMO Garver would not be a good trade bait we wouldn`t get very much for him, majority of the line up had a bad 2020. But what scares me most is Cohen w/ those velvet pockets buying up a ton of FAs at discount.
  2. Hopefully Buck will stay healthy even so it`d be nice to have a LH bat to give Buck a rest if a RHP comes up that Buck might have trouble hitting.
  3. Thank you! I too did some more looking. I didn`t find any stats but I found an interview w/ Kepler saying that he enjoyed playing CF & said it was easy for him to play there. I believe those aspects would translate into productive ABs
  4. I too would like Rogers to return, he`s listed on the projected 26 man roster for 2021 on the Twins site (Rosario is not). I`d like both Clippard & May to return but I think May would hold out for more than the Twins are willing to pay. I believe the Twins probably have their eyes on different relievers that fit their profile (to go along w/ the 2 they already picked up) but waiting to see how things pan out. I wouldn`t mind if they approach Hill to help out in the BP & do some spot starting
  5. I believe Rooker wouldn`t be replacing Cruz but would be taking preference over Cave & Wade
  6. I agree that this service time thing should be changed. I`d like if we could bring up all of our top prospects, at least the positional ones, I believe the pitchers could use some more time to develop more as starters. Like you said the corner OF, DH, 1B positions (especially last year) was not a need but a viable CF, SS, 2B, 3B back up was. Lewis had a spectacular AFL & at St, Paul he was scouted as their best hitter but he wasn`t called up because they said he wasn`t ready (meaning he is a prime prospect & that they want to hold back his service time). Depending what happens this off season, the earliest they`d be called up is May except maybe Jeffers . Because our need for a RH platoon corner OF & Rooker`s service time is not an issue, he be the 1st to be called up. I don`t see FO changing their philosophy, sorry to say
  7. I`d like help from my TD friends. My impression of Kepler as a CF back up, is that his offensive production takes a drop. I have no stats to back that up so if I`m wrong, I`d like to know so I`d be ok w/ this when it occurs or if I`m right, we need to seek a better solution. Kepler, defensively at CF is ok but does his offensive production take a drop or not? & if so, by how much? If some one could be so kind to shed light on this? I`d appreciate it. Thanks
  8. We have a lot of holes from FA exiting. In the beginning we can add a few but as we fill those holes, we`ll have to decide who to drop or trade from 40 man if there is some one of value we`d lose
  9. Unfortunately, I believe the feeling of the teams is that there will be a big discount on relievers. That being said I believe the Twins would think in this market that they could save money by letting Rogers go & try to resign him or find a comparable replacement. I`d like them to resign Clippard, him & any good deal try to get a 2 yr. deal Cleveland is very confident w/ their ability to scout great talent & developing it. So they don`t hesitate to let go pitchers. to the extent of aces. Twins have shown the same talent w/ BP, so I imagine they`ll see what they can do w/ the recent additions & their farm prospects
  10. I prefer steak at fast food prices
  11. Stoman is ranked as 2nd tier on mlb.com. This will be a terrible year for FAs, IMO it`ll be ridiculous unless you`re 1st tier & still they`ll be disappointed. My guess ODO could get around $10K / 1yr.
  12. Archer is in the the top 50 free agents. Twins love sliders & Archer was great w/ it at TB where was allowed to use it. I agree w/ Trov to offer a low salary w/ a lot of production base incentives, to cover ourselves if his full recovery is delayed. There has been some rumors w/ different teams including TB. The Twins should pursue this opportunity because he has a lot of upside, there`s no limit w/ what Wes Johnson can do w/ him because he is motivated. We shouldn`t look at his stats from PIT, it wasn`t his fault that PIT forced him to abandon his slider to throw sinkers. The difference between PIT pitching staff to MN, is like night & day, a low salary would free up $ to go after a higher priced FA.
  13. It was a shame he missed valuable time in 2020 where he was absent from Wes Johnson`s watchful eye. Still hopeful of a big return if his head is right.
  14. I believe Cash made the right call. Facing a powerful top of the line-up for the 3rd time w/ the best BP is a no brainer. Snell`s success is a result of Cash`s decisions that have been made up to that point. If Snell would have stayed in the game & been ripped & lost the game, he`d be the goat. Instead he was praised by Cash for doing his job admirably which he did.
  15. Love your article, like you said Robby Ray has his control problems yet he could be a tweak away from being an ace because he has the stuff. I`m in the same camp about Chris Archer, felt so sorry for him when he was stranded in PIT. He has great untapped talent that went to waste & went down hill from there. He is hated in PIT & will be released today. Because of stats & the corrective surgery he had this summer. IMO will be dirt cheap. I`d be tremendously happy if he find himself, fulfilling his full potential as a Twin. Both of them could top off our pitching staff
  16. I`m sure that the poor financial 2020 & uncertain 2021 has always been considered in the salaries & I noticed that estimates are lower than originally quoted. I expect the actual will come even more especially lower the level of the player. I`d like if the Twins pursued a solid SP. If the Twins can pick up Kiki Hernandez away from LA as a super utility, I`m all in. Otherwise I`d stick w/ Adrianza & Astudillo until Lewis is ready.
  17. Like you mentioned Nick, this coming year will be very interesting. W/ 2020 losses & uncertainty of 2021, most everybody is expected to cut payroll. this offseason IMO in the beginning everybody will be in the wait & see mode. FA demand will be low therefore offers will be low. All the FAs & players that are in arbitration that we`d like to keep but unwilling to pay the price, approach them & relay the desire to keep them but budget wont let us bring you back unless we negotiate a lower price. If they want to remain a Twin they will negotiate a reasonable salary if not thank them for their service & move on. Because of the glut of FAs that will hit the market IMO the offers for FA could be much lower than what you estimated. The Twins love to wait & see in a normal season so this coming off-season there is no doubt they`ll do this.
  18. Many prospects look great. Hope to have no problems this year w/ covid scare so they can have a full season
  19. It seems that the Marlins have an eye on pitching talent. Now that they are competitive they probably would be willing to give up a young arm to fill holes in their line up. If Wes is confident & if we can get a good deal w/ a trade we can live with, I say go for it. By the way, like your title
  20. I`d give him the 2 yrs., . the salary would have to be negotiated of course. He`s our best hitter, a great mentor, we`d like for him to stay & coach for us when he wants to retire & I hate for him to end up in CWS. Like what was said that the universal DH will not happen in 2021 & covid scare where we should get a good price. 2022 if we don`t need him, we can always trade him when maybe his stock could even be higher
  21. This article kinda tells me that the commissioner isn`t serious about keeping this game clean. Only doing what he had to do to get this behind him. He never really did a thorough investigation in how deep it went & which teams were doing it. Batters should be allowed to be checked for a electronic piece before they bat & be penalized if they are cheating
  22. Cruz is very valuable & we should go after him. Maybe this will be his last year, I don`t think he`ll accept an coaching salary yet but hopefully he will w/ us when he does decide to retires. But maybe he`ll take a cut due to the down turn, if not he may be gone
  23. To me this benefits the Twins by reduces the demand for Cruz which helps us to sign him for another year.
  24. I suspected cheating. I don`t know how but I`m an advocate of checking for electrical devices before a batter bats.
  25. I know last off season before we got Donaldson, I suggested we go after a SS & shift Polanco to 2B. Top of my wish list were Baez & Story at the time Cubs & Rockies had high hopes but this season they could be attainable. My doubts for placing Polanco at utility IMO is that I think Polanco has trouble adjusting w/ which arm motion to use thus causing throwing errors. Although I think Lewis is ready to be at least a doable SS or utility, I suggest that we wait because of the naysayers who are ready to pounce on him for any little thing therefore placing unmerited pressure on him.
