  1. I`d go all in. He`s a fountain of pitching wisdom, young pitchers are looking for, to make that jump that Wes might not have. 1 year may pay dividends for years to come. Jack Morris was a great pitcher for the Twins but he refused to help young pitchers, Bauer on the other hand loves to share his knowledge of the game. This spring training Jeffers, Blankenhorn & Lewis were following Donaldson around like puppy dogs, don`t you think that might have aided their hitting success in their premiere? I think this coming FA won`t be the same, there won`t be as much demand. Yes, we`ll lose a draft pick but this coming draft will have less playing time to really judge good talent. The following year we`ll gain an extra draft pick with a whole year to scout
  2. Bring him back on a contract based on incentives. If he stays healthy & productive everyone is happy if not we`d have ourselves covered
  3. I`d love if we could obtain Trevor Bauer but after a great 2020, I doubt we can afford him. I`d keep Hill but hope to use him like I suggested all along in relief & spot start. He could turn out as a viable closer
  4. The top priority is to bring up Royce Lewis as a quality utility. Lewis is athletic could play SS, CF, 2B & even 3B well if needed this is IMO our greatest need, (I quince when they put Kepler in CF because he`s a much better overall player if kept at RF) . His hitting is coming around & the scouting report states his best trait is baseball maturity. I expect for him to tear up the Arizona League again. We have a lot of options in LF. But IMO Rooker is a necessity to at least platoon there. Hope they expand the Arizona League this year so we can better see our minor leaguers & give them an opportunity to compete
  5. 2020 was difficult on most us, including players. We put a lot of stock in Donaldson, when he`s not available, we have a gaping hole. Unfortunately he was laid up before & during the wild card series. We are a confident team especially defensively that seeps into the offensive. We are a different team w/ him, it`s too bad we are so dependent on him when his health is questionable. I expect some players will be let go or traded justly & unjustly so
  6. Yes I question all those calls also. HOU piggy- backed Zeinke w/ Valdez even when Zeinke seemed to have settled down. I`d have left him in longer but piggy-backing made perfect sense. Baldelli should have done the same, Hill would have been great in this situation while at the same time saving our BP. I didn`t understand this series roster. I believe Baldelli thought he could waltz through this series & finesse his way. I`m a fan of Astudillo but he hasn`t been given a chance during the season to find his groove & work out the bugs, putting him in a situation of PHing during a wildcard game was unfair, he`s not a veteran.
  7. Some teams & players are confident in PS, they come alive at PS. Others play like they have a monkey on their backs (everything goes wrong)& I think fans have a lot to do w/ it. I liked to follow the game thread to really get in the game. Some posts are very positive, informative & even funny but others are negative & even toxic so I decided to no longer follow the game threads even during the PS
  8. I was surprised about Kiriloff addition & Hill & Alcala being left off also
  9. Before we signed Donaldson, the big talk was trading for an ace & the topic of Jeffers or Rortvedt should be used as trade bait (especially Jeffers). Their reasoning was that we had Garver & they were not needed. My argument was that they were our near future & Garver as great we think he is, catching is a demanding position so we need a good back to relieve him (Garver could be used to sub at 1B to keep his bat in the line up). How quickly Jeffers has progressed & Garver`s recent slump & injury has driven this point more relevant. I`m still high on Garver but he if he can`t turn it around quickly Jeffers should be our priority. If Garver can be close to Jeffers, I`m afraid Garver will take the 1st seat into the post season.
  10. He is a beloved manager at MN & DET. His great patience & eye has greatly prepared DET for the next stage. Bless you Gardy! Wish you well but not the Tigers
  11. As far as offense goes it`s either feast or famine, wish they could maintain a steady flow.
  12. IMO Dobnak deserves to be on the PS roster
  13. It`s great to see prospects Dobnak, Arrais, Smeltzer, Alcala, Jeffers, Rooker & Blankenhorn come up & have success. The first 3 came out of no where, the next 4 advanced sooner than expected. That leaves our top 5 prospects which have greater upside that haven`t been given the opportunity yet. That leaves us w/ great anticipation especially in present & future areas of need mid-fielder platoon & pitching
  14. I predict that the Twins will take #1 seed. The Twins are starting to gel w/ their hitting as well as their pitching. As much as I`d like that NYY & Hou not make the play-offs I believe they`ll make a final push which will bogg down both TB & Oak. The Twins will continue to improve & go on a tear.
  15. Rooker should have been called up sooner when Buck was hurt, to help offset LHPs that were thrown at us. He has a great future as a Twin being RH (in a sea of great LH hitting OF on & off the roster) to platoon w/ Rosario & Kepler
  16. Astudillo missed the training & a lot of time, it should be expected for him to be rusty. Many teams don`t have a decent back up catcher, Astudillo is our #4 catcher. We are very fortunate to have him as a #4 utility catcher plus his great hitting & the spark he adds to the team. It`s too bad about Rooker, he has proven himself
  17. I know the Yankees have injuries & players are slumping but I also think the Yanks were relying also on cheating much like Houston. They have to get used to playing a clean game. Hope also they don`t make the play offs
  18. I knew Maeda was going to help the Twins, he exceeded my my expectations. Great game
  19. The thing that made the most sense on implementing in this fearful season was the robo umps. #1 was that it kept distance between older umps & players #2 it eliminated human error. But it was not accepted, why not?
  20. Very impressive! A few are ahead of Rogers, our main closer. Figure
  21. It was a shame that Dobnak went on a short rest. On the Twins side it`d have greatly benefited them if they hadn`t agreed to the double-header. Dobnak was abnormally all over the place, IMO Dobnak would`ve pitched much better if he had one more day rest.
  22. Very pleased that Pineda hasn`t showed hardly any rust & has pitched very well out of the gate. Hopefully Rogers will pitch well the remaining season
  23. Although time is getting shorter, I`m expecting Pineda, Odo & Hill to get stronger. Hoping all to be top form for the play-offs. That said it could be interesting to see who the starting rotation will be then
  24. Why not not boot Vargas, I never understood why we picked him up. They said that they were looking towards the future. IMO his future is worse than his present
  25. Rooker should`ve been called up a long time ago, even before Jeffers. Rooker isn`t replacing Buxton or Donaldson, he`ll be used to platoon Rosario or Kepler against LHP, which we still need to stack the line up against LHPs or PH
