  1. Yeah, I expect too that the owners will counter w/ less games, to throw off the players. But 60 games won`t be the final result IMO. Pity all this stupid negotiations will only delay further the desire of a speedy restart
  2. Martin Luther King is a hero to me, in a time of social injustice much greater than today he preach for racial equality w/ love & unity. Back then there was an avenue of violence which pointed to civil war (which wouldn`t succeed anything but blood & misery), he chose to alienate himself from that & was able to succeed on precious civil rights. Today we have the same choice, do we want to condone violence (which enemy of our democracy wants) or do we totally stand against it? Do we continue w/ King & choose the high ground & unite or do we choose to hate which divides & cause civil war w/ death & lose? We must not be apathetic about it!
  3. 1st of all, I`m against injustice & racism of any kind. What I saw portrayed on media concerning George Floyd was repulsive & that police officer should be prosecuted full force of the law. I`m a democrat but I hate politics & abhor most politicians because instead of serving the people, they don`t care; they only care about power & $. I was shocked a while ago when I saw an advertisement on Master Class; the teacher said " Learn enough to think you`re right but not enough to know you`re wrong". What shocked me wasn`t what he said but how smug he was. A lot of focus is put on indoctrination, spinning data & shutting down contrary dialogue not education & truth. When it was time to practice self-distancing, they threw out narratives encouraging to embrace the public & many got infected; when it was time for low-risk player to go to work, they encouraged lock-down, at the same time ignoring the high-risk persons in nursing homes. Baseball not to long ago was robust now it is sick not because of covid 19 but because of the narratives. Kepler was criticized because he wasn`t political & wanted to obligate him, I say good for him. I`m sure he supports Buxton 100%. I say politicians are out to divide & conquer, they don`t really care, they want only power. People should protest peaceably against injustice but don`t let politics tear us apart. This is the time to unite & let`s keep politics out of it. Baseball has always united us let`s bring it back & KEEP OUT POLITICS
  4. Always have liked Duffy, he`s evolved into pitcher that he is now. I think he`ll continue to evolve. That said, I think he still needs to prove that he can maintain that success. Early last year Baldelli never announced his closer but Rogers proved that he could handle that high leverage role & he earned that role. But he also showed that he didn`t have the stuff to pitch consecutive games. That`s why I suggested Hill to be used to be used in high leverage games to limit his pitch count until he`s fully ready to go full blast in the post season. But going into the post season we need to have someone able to duo w/ Taylor Rogers because he won`t be available every game, hopefully Duffy can be that guy
  5. I agree w/ you Cooper. Berrios is by far the best pitcher. He can be depended on to pitch at least 7 good innings on most days & now capable to pitch around 200 innings which helps the BP a lot. I expect him to take another step & become a Cy Young canidate. Odorizzi is always improving himself & last year stepped up his game, he`s motivated this year to continue to improve his value. Baldelli had him pitched by far the least of the starting rotation (except Pineda, who had not pitched for a long time & left early) if he had pitched more his #s would have dived. Maeda is a polished pitcher & if he`s handled like LA did he will continue to be good. But don`t expect him to turn into an ace just because he`ll be given an opportunity to pitch longer. LA has had a fantastic pitcher coaching staff & their organization isn`t worried about $ if it means winning. Maeda wasn`t limited his innings because LA wanted to save $, it was because Maeda pitched better w/ fewer times around the batting order & his #s were much better at pitcher friendly Dodger Stadium. Now he`ll pitch in hitter friendly Target Field. Unless our staff has found a secret that LA missed that they`re not sharing. If you look at the adjusted Maeda stats of game`s away from LA & pitching 3x or more through the order, I think some fans will be disappointed
  6. I too would like Sano improve his strike out rate. Wouldn`t it be possible for Sano w/ 1 or 2 strikes to shorten his stride & try not to kill the ball every at bat to protect the plate a little bit better. He`s so strong he doesn`t have to kill the ball to put it over the fence.
  7. To me the owners are trying to split the union to get votes. Since this is a unique season we need unique solutions. I was thinking maybe for this year only that these big market owners could carve into their high revenues to help out the lower markets & help cut a more favorable deal w/ the players. If there is still a hardship of any owner, hopefully they can negotiate some kind of deferred payment. Because of this covid fiasco, baseball has suffered tremendously this year & years to come. Those who will suffer the most are minor leaguers, owners, MLB players & die hard fans. It`s out of minorleaguers & fans hands, so it`s to everyone`s advantage for the owners & MLB players to limit this damage! Or baseball will further diminish & it`s effect on society
  8. We owe these great men so much who sacrificed so much in a crises so we can exercise our freedoms. Salute to them!
  9. The courage & the hassle for any team to get there, more than qualifies them. It`s still the World Series, the 2 teams that qualifies goes through the same pressures & challenges of that ultimate series .
  10. This game seems rigged! How can all these high caliber sluggers be held down for so long! Unbelievable! For the most part it seems you`re doing everything right
  11. Like your selections, 1965 Twins could`ve & should`ve won (my favorite Twin Tony Oliva & 2nd favorite pitcher Camilo Pasqual)! If FO hadn`t let Ortiz go for nothing & some bad trades the 2006 Twins could`ve gone all the way ( favorite all time pitcher Yohan & Hunter was great)!
  12. Agreed a good exercise just in case. Very difficult to choose, pre-trades might also resolve some the problems. But this covid fiasco has put to rest any idea of this. It might be hard to keep the teams that we have.
  13. Very impressive! Especially for 41-50, can`t wait to see the others. Although we have only the 27th pick out of the top 50
  14. It was tough to lose to CLE & split against KC but we should make up some ground the next few days. It was tough to lose Rosario but Cave & Rooker are filling in very nicely, hopefully they continue & Snell & Wood would turn around
  15. I agree we have to have players that we need to continue to develop & also be available in a possible trade this year. So we need those players mentioned Balazovich, Lewis, Larnach and Kiriloff to be on that list. For extra catchers I`d go w/ Jeffers & maybe Rortvedt
  16. Very interesting! It`s a fine line in tweaking a delivery w/o losing it`s effectiveness. Hope Berrios will find it! Feel sorry for pitchers like Arrieta which are forced into a pitching style that work against their potential talents. Archer w/ the Bucs is bashed a lot & hated because of the trade that brought him there. The problem isn`t w/ him but the pitching coaches who try to alter his style. He was a rising star, he lost a lot of ground & years of improvement under them.
  17. Great article! Piggy backing makes total sense to me w/ this rotation, this schedule, prospect depth & FA next year. Last year piggy backing worked well w/ Pineda & Perez, Pineda was slow in getting warmed up (his #s weren`t so good in the beginning) & Perez didn`t have what it takes to go long. This year IMO I think we should piggyback Hill also, he`ll need time to stretch him out. It`d be a shame if he gets hurt before the play-offs, that`s when we need him so I think that we could use even more arms. If we look at the ERA for each time through the order, it`d show the same thing & Maeda would be much higher like you said because of his vulnerability of the long ball ETA
  18. Couldn`t agree w/ you more! But it still would have been nice to have an extra draft pick. Being the way things are, it probably hurts less. It`ll be interesting to see how thing works out after round 5. We`re in a strange territory.
  19. Agree, Cruz should at least make honorable mention
  20. With all due respect, I`m tired of reporters who don`t care about baseball telling us we need to be satisfied w/ baseball from other countries & give up our 2020 season. They are more concerned about low risk athletes getting covid 19 than high risk Twins fan residents in nursing homes. That`s where our concerns should be not trying to keep covid 19 from low risk players so they can develop some resistance to it. I agree w/ reporters which report that we need baseball. There is an increase of suicides, drug, alcohol & domestic abuse because of fear, loneliness & hopelessness. I believe no one should be forced to do anything if anyone doesn`t feel right about participating. & at the same time responsible areas should not be penalized because of irresponsible areas (SF, NY, NJ, BOS) & be forced not having a 2020 season. Again I`m not saying not to have precautions, I`m saying not to look for reasons not to have it & look for reasons & solutions on having it.
  21. I`m happy you turned down the Berrios trade, our objective in this game is to win it all. I like Snell but I hate to give up Rosario short term & Balazovik long & short. I like Syndergaard but we don`t have anyone to replace Buxton, losing him would hurt a lot. So that leaves option Boyd or Wood. What we give up in either trade is very doable. I`d question also LA motive in trading Wood so that`s why I chose Boyd. I like Gordon as a trading chip but we could throw in Bailey also, he doesn`t have a full season in him (I think the game probably has that baked into it) so he`s at the point of highest value & should be dangled out there. Kiriloff or Larnach are great prospects but are expendable & should be considered to try to get an upgrade in SP quality. I hate to trade away promising pitching prospects. Great work keep it up!
  22. I think "cool" has different meaning to different people. To some it means "hip", to others "unshakable" so some people may have different ideas on what this list would look like. All things considered, I agree w/ your list. Donaldson makes a very cool Viking chieftain
  23. We have to see why there is a trade deadline & if the reason is valid we need to prorate it, if not abolish it. But thinking better of it we do need some deadline to protect us from a team last minute buying of a championship
