  1. It seems this re-structural stuff will create more problems than solve like the DH. I don`t want to see an asterix saying due to covid19 these championships & post season games don`t count
  2. Although, it`d be wonderful to see Kepler crush Bauer! This re-structural BS is ridiculous. It`s like not having baseball at all, that all the games played have more of an appearance of exhibition games that don`t count than actual games. MLB teams have chartered flights what`s the difference of flying to LAA than Atlanta? Keep the leagues the way it is!!!!!!!!!
  3. I think we should be open for any opportunity that may arise. Bauer is much more worthy of a high draft pick through his skill & experience which he can share. I`d definitely not write him off. My dream is the Twins to have an ace factory pumping them out on a regular basis. We are not quite there yet, trading away high pitching prospects puts us further back. So going out & get a couple high end pitchers is not out the question if we want to win a WS now.
  4. Unbelievable that Cleveland is the best team in this MLB game
  5. I agree that it was wise to consider Pineda`s suspension into the game. I`d keep Hill at minimal action in BP until late in the season to guard against any injury, also Trevor Rogers could possibly use the help from Hill as closer in some cases. Even though Cruz is hot I`d give him rest against the pitchers he has the most trouble with.
  6. I`ve come to discover that spin rate is very important. Many like to compare Jon Gray to Gerrit Cole; their weight, height & stats are very similar (I for one was very excited, hoping for the opportunity to trade for Gray) but one big difference is Cole has very good spin rate & Gray has below average. Gray could become a very good pitcher but he won`t be another Gerrit Cole, primarily because of the spin rate. Looking forward towards Odo coming into his own.
  7. I hope Colina does develop to be a great pitcher. I don`t get it how the Twins are so eager to demote a potential ace to the BP before doing everything in their power to help them develop a 3rd pitch. Many good pitchers like May, Duffy & Perkins were given every opportunity to start before delegated to the BP. That should be the philosophy of every potential ace especially now when we have a top rate pen & need of aces. I`d love to have 5 aces. Early on last year I was all in w/ trading Graterol for a top rotation arm. But observing his stuff & cool disposition in facing the Yankees I changed my mind. Together w/ Berrio`s desire to mentor him & Graterol`s desire to be great for his people, I believed we had our impact arm in any level that he was called upon. I too was heart broken in how Graterol was handled
  8. Congratulations on your # 100, great job!
  9. This year Rosario is in the spot light, hopefully he`ll be totally healthy, his defense & plate discipline will approve. But no matter how Rosario performs either Kirilloff, Larnach or Rooker will need prove that they can play an adequate LF as well as consistently hit MLB well, if they can do that Rosario is gone
  10. I`m a big fan Al Worthinton but now I admire him more! What I like about the Twins is that they attract good character players. What I dislike is what others practice & try to cover up.
  11. "The Athletic" just had an article by Law that shares my option on HS pitchers in the draft, are high risk, low ceiling. This year draft has a great selection of college pitchers, wish we had more picks. College position players had greater % of success. I imagine that maybe the game has Cruz`s age baked into it so I`d give him more rest & maybe put Sano more often at DH
  12. It looks like to me that this study is based on a shorten season w/o doubleheaders. A condensed season w/ doubleheaders is more advantageous to Twins who has greater depth of starters which put us much closer to the top of the list. A shorten season is more advantageous to those teams w/ more quality & not quantity. So I`m more in favor of of a condensed season. I`m not in favor of a prolonged season going into late Oct. or later, because even when the virus subsides in the summer it could come back later in the fall. We should prepare for this
  13. Billy Martin was feisty, always fighting w/ umpires & even players. He encouraged Carew & others to steal home. which they uncommonly did. He was definitely not boring. The Twins couldn`t put up w/ him even though they had winning teams
  14. We had so much potential during those years & so many what ifs. Just think of what Ortiz & a healthy Koskie, Morneau, Mauer & Liriano could do along w/ others talented players like Santana. We were blessed to have a great player like Morneau & a wonderful person.
  15. Thanks for the article, I took the opportunity to read some articles I missed & revisit others. It was great getting to know the writers & how international the staff is. I took a special liking to Mineiro, Thiéres Rabelo. I live in Belo & appreciate his openness to fall in love w/ the Twins. You have other writers which weren`t mentioned that would have been interesting to read. Always enjoy Parker Hageman`s articles on mechanics of the game. Also like to thank everyone at TD for the work they put in to make this site possible.
  16. Loved your articles! Johan was phenomenal & deserved to be in the HoF. You mentioned how his 3rd Cy Young was stolen from him & jimmer mentioned that Colon had a full run more support than Santana which a pitcher has no control over. If the Twins had Ortiz he could have had more run support & maybe even a WS or 2. That should`ve put him over even w/ his shorten career.
  17. Like you I admire those who are passionate for the game always hungry on honing their skills. At the same I`m happy on the approach of our hitting coaches who are willing to help each hitter to customize their swing not pushing a set philosophy. I`m intrigued by Donaldson`s drive to fine turn his swing
  18. I`m just curious how are they going to work out the minors. Will they only have the 40 man list playing (or some version of it) & where? Many will be hurt by this pandemic including the up coming draftees
  19. I`m rooting for Berrios to win it this year or even next
  20. All have a dear spot in my heart. Although Johnson was the greatest, I think Nash wanted to limit the list to Twins. Camilo was a Twin, including his time in the organization he had a ton of SO w/ his nasty curve & pitched great in the Twins 1st WS. I`d substitute Brad Radke w/ Camilo
  21. My hope this season is that eventually everything would return to normal. Under this premise it can`t, they are forced to play all their games at their preseason camp. Although to start the season it`d be reasonable to have a Florida (AL) & Arizona (NL), switching a few teams base camps to accommodate the restructuring. But anything is better than nothing
  22. Something I`ve been thinking of is when Hill is regaining his strength & form is to use him in short high leverage relief, until he`s ready to start full bore. That`ll take off pressure on Taylor Rogers needing to perform repeatedly. Nick wasn`t comparing Graterol to Chapman, he was just referring to his high potential based on his stuff & stats in the minors & majors.
  23. I saw Bruce Springstein misses baseball too. Hopes his vote count
