  1. Hopefully it works for him with the Twins or another team. I wonder if he wasn't struggling with arm issues we'll before he needed T.J.
  2. But with our luck, after the 4th claim...he'll be Liam Hendricks.
  3. Signing back end starters and lefty swinging corner outfielders.... Seems like the plan from what I've witnessed.
  4. I'd much rather just throw Martin out there and see what happens. If we were itching for a trade we should've got involved when Murphy was dealt. There were two quality-ish catchers moved that day. Contreras might not be a great catcher but he is young and can hit. I'm sure we could have used him more then Laureano.
  5. If Oakland is disappointed in Pache's 2022debut...I'd rather trade and bet on his comeback for 2023.
  6. It seems at this point that Correa does not want to return. I was initially sad about this, but we may be closer to rebuilding than contending with Correa. It will be a fun season to see if our young talent can stay healthy and produce. If that happens we will be in good shape. If not, it'll be time to sell, and not having Correa on the books for 9+ years should only help.
  7. We better be prepared for some extremely low scoring games. Between Gallo's strikeouts, our catchers not hitting, and a Farmer/Mateo platoon, we could be seeing the bottom on the lineup produce very little.
  8. Hopefully they need a corner outfield left handed bat!!!
  9. Sano isn't here. We need someone to have 3 strikeout games to drive us crazy!
  10. I think you mean they had Gallo.... Wasn't it spelled Sano? I guess, can you have to many Gallo's. Might as well sign him, resign Sano, and keep Wallner up full time. Let's shoot for some records next year. I'm sure we could get to most strikeouts by a team with those guys
  11. What do you mean not the Twins. I thought we were signing him and Swanson? How could our front office not deliver?
  12. When you sum up our off-season like that, we might as well sell of the usable veterans and start rebuilding for the future. Only problem is, in not sure I want Falvey overseeing that task.
  13. Right. They used that money to sign Matt Olson long term
  14. If that is the case, we are in for a long year of losing.
  15. The Braves are pulling off the strategy well. You just have to be smart enough to know who deserves the dollars. Not sure we have that front office for drafting and signing talent early in their careers.
  16. It's a terrible contract. I would have loved to keep Correa, but no way at that length and dollars.
  17. But, we tried! Isn't that our war cry. I wanted Correa back, but no way I want him on that contract.
  18. I don't think so. I think the A's just pulled off one terrible trade.
  19. The trade makes no sense for the A's who dealt the best player of them all, and their return seemed the worst.
  20. That's exactly my thought. How do the A's trade Murphy and the Brewers end up with Contreras. With our need at catcher I'm wishing we slithered in there on that deal. Unless I'm missing something, William Contreras seems like a pretty decent catcher with a lot of controllable years.
  21. I think it would be wise to collect two 5 to 6 mil dollar relievers and still have Duran waiting to finish the game.
  22. They really should be trading them. They'd restock their system quick dealing those two. I doubt the Twins would even have the ammo to get a deal done. Assuming we are not dealing Lewis.
  23. The conundrum is that all our best options are all left handed.
  24. I guess. If you look at his stats by month, it looks like he had 2 healthy months, then struggled incredibly the other 3.5 months until he was shut down. An unhealthy Buxton doesn't help the team when he has a below .200 batting average, no walks, high k rate, and league average ops. But his 2 good months were very good!
