My prediction, based on nothing more than a gut feeling is that they trade 24th pick for more picks. Or they use it to draft a safety, who they think could be the next Harrison Smith.

Everyone knows Gasper has shortcomings. Likely the reason he made the roster was only due to injuries and the shortcomings of his potential replacements. His role has the third catcher has already come into play. Will he be on the 26 man all year? I hope not. Will he be able hit enough and play some passable defense? I don’t know. Who exactly would you replace him with as 13th position player?

I agree that if Gasper can not show at least something of a pitch hitter/average defender than he is not filling his role. It probably isn’t easy to sit on the bench for 5 days and get called on to take an at bat

Not sure i support that plan. I am more of a stay on schedule thinker. But I doubt they care much about my opinion 😊

Not that I am complaining, but why is Zebby getting this start? Didn’t Festa already take Pablo’s start?

Gasket’s role should be that as an emergency catcher with an occasional emergency or spot start, any thing more than that is overuse. I prefer Julien as the dh over Miranda and I have no desire to see Miranda start over Castro at this point.

With the pecking order being Castro, Lee, Julien, Miranda or Gasper, how much playing time would you expect the 4th name on this list to get?

Miranda as Dh and part time 1b and 3b . Julien as a part time second baseman and pitch hitter or at AAA

Miranda should be a lock as the opening day Dh. If Correa and Castro can cover SS the first month, Lee should start in St Paul. Gasper should start the season with the big club. And for me it comes down to Julien versus Martin…..just not sure yet- 26 replies

A nice career year of 140 RF starts, batting clean up hitting .260 with 30 home runs and 100 rbis from Wallner sound ok?

How many of the starters today are the actual opening day starters? Any predictions?

I think Alcala if healthy and based on past performances and usage should make the opening day roster. But than again I have never really figured out the pen construction or usage since Falvey and Rocco took over

How about…. Lewis Larnach Correa Wallner Buxton Miranda Castro Lee Catcher as the opening day lineup? No need to platoon much.

If the choice is truly one or the other, the choice for 2025 should be Vazquez. The split that they have used the last two years has actually worked ok. I am not convinced Jeffers should ever be a #1 catcher. He seems more like DH option against a lefty starter and maybe catch 40% of games.

How about an opening day outfield of Wallner, Buxton and Rodriquez? Larnach is the Dh. Kiersey is a late inning defensive replacement, pinch runner and spot starter. I didn’t get to see much last year, but from what I heard and read, Martin and Castro should get their innings as infielders.

This. His main value is as a hitter. Play him where he might stay healthy.

If the Twins have to trade one of the two this offseason, I would lean towards Jeffers.
