    Tsunami. Truly Amazing!

Now 0-3 in 1 run games. Too bad about the 'pen, but the writing's been on the wall since the last trade deadline.🙁

I noticed that the Twins have played only a single one run game so far, which is last in the majors. Given the somewhat shaky bullpen, this is something to watch. They won't always be protecting a late multi run lead. Anyway, this has all been pretty amazing. You gotta love baseball!
  4. chinmusic
Yeah, but his bat had something to say in the 3rd. That baseball was crushed!

Justin Verlander has signed a 1 year deal with the Tigers. Amazing, back where it all began. Skubal , Valdez....sure the Central is winnable; just not for the Twins.

Must be a lot of eye rolling from the players.
  7. chinmusic
That pretty well sums it up.

Yeah, how about that. If Jorge Polanco had been in the Beatles, he'd have been George Harrison, the quiet one. I don't think I ever saw him as animated as he was after that game winning hit. Happy for him. Always liked the guy. Just another piece in the Twins diaspora.

As Vladdy so eloquently stated in his Jon Sterling parody... the Yankeeees lose😄

Not the point, I know, but were the combined payrolls of the A.L. Central equal to the payroll of the amazin' Mets? Probably more, but not by a whole lot.
  11. chinmusic
Sadly, but yes, it did. Rocco will land on his feet elsewhere.

For active players, Mike Trout certainly qualifies.

It's close, but it's the first double header shutout since 1961 by a nose.(imo) With 7 games left, there's ample time for more scary fun facts😀
  14. chinmusic
Not long enough. (but wow, that is amazing)

Good article. Simultaneously funny and sad.

For sheer entertainment, this was a great baseball game. When the season is over, I'm confident Byron Buxton will have achieved 30/30; a first in Twins history. Cool!

I think deliberate tanking is wrong. The games become a spectacle, a sideshow. Whichever of the top draft picks you "earn", may have no relevance in any case.

He knows people in high places. A future in theatre, perhaps?
  19. chinmusic
Wow! As I type, Buxton just cracked #28. Thanks for the info. (and what a bounce back year for Trevor Story)
  20. chinmusic
Kind of cool that Buxton finally stole 3rd, and at the same time got his 20/20! I wonder if anyone has ever done that without a caught stealing. And 30/20 is likely, with an outside chance at 30/30 In such a season, I think it's legit for him to focus on that. It'll certainly hold my interest.

What country? i'm gonna go to the game tonight. What a contrast. For the Jays, it's let the good times roll. Anyway, it's an opportunity to see this Twins group in the flesh. (with "the experience" on the mound, no less) No expectations, just going to take it all in. Que sera, sera.
  22. chinmusic
yup...and yet we remain "Happy Together"
  23. chinmusic
In the interest of accuracy, he did not. Pitched a third of an inning and gave up a home run to former Jay Marcus Semien. Jays scored 4 in the bottom of the eighth, and Jeff Hoffman won the game. (or maybe you just meant that Varland's team won the game)
  24. chinmusic
Just a stab in the dark- you're a Steely Dan fan😉

At least. Ryan? Pablo?..even Buck... who will they be playing for in 2026.
