  1. I'm just a fan who watches from afar so I don't know all the ins and outs of the organization like you fellas do. I was much more invested when Twins were the parent club of the Red Wings. What I saw this year was pretty sad. Particularly when Buxton finally played pretty much an entire season and put up some very good numbers. But overall the team was not fun to watch it was a few years back. So many hitters just didn't arrive this year. Then the FO gave away nearly half the roster at the deadline. Then we had to watch the likes of Outman play everyday even though I don't think he ever cracked .150. There were times when the guys just looked bored with the game, maybe because by August they all knew they were never going higher than 4th and they weren't quite as pathetic as the WhiteSox. firing the manager is always an option that owners use liberally when things go south. O's ditched Hyde during the season and it had minimal results. They were also hard to watch, especially the k's. So much needs to improve in 2026, and as we have seen, sometimes things turn around real quickly. I hope thats the case because the last two Septembers were massive trainwrecks in Minnesota. I haven't provided an ounce of analysis...just observation as a fan that it was a painful season. Maybe next year.
  2. In irony when a guy named Outman plays everyday and can't even get above .150 you have a team where winning is not an objective. Twins have yawned thru 2025 playing some of the most uninspired ball imaginable. Losing a series to a Rockies team who has lost 115 games so far (they could lose 119 tying for 3rd worst record in modern history) shows you how little energy these guys have. And this is with Buxton being mostly healthy ( but finishing in September in a slump) This season has been a total waste. Can a flush help for 2026? Who knows
  3. In a season that has been mostly worthless, last nights shutout win over the Evil Empire was a breath of fresh air for Twins fans. Twins rarely beat the Yankees so knocking them off like that, while they are scrambling for playoff seeding was sweet. Now go out and win the series. I'd like to see Buck keep the BA over .270. He is scuffling now. 80 RBI is also a good goal. He won't steal 30. Like to see Keaschall stay above .300; Lee to emerge from his slump; Ryan win a couple more. None of this is earth shattering but there has to be something for the fans to enjoy in these final 2 weeks of a very disappointing season.
  4. Buck is not going to be traded. However he has thrown down the gauntlet that he is not interested in yet another failed 'rebuild'. Twins had a miserable 2025 season, in almost every aspect. They need to do something in the off-season to make their big league team competitive again. Team needs to figure out what it takes to be a winner again because this current team borders on unwatchable. There is some talent out there but it didn't come together at all. They shouldn't be this far back of Det, Cle or KC. And their play against Chicago was deplorable. Lots of work to be done.
  5. Buxton will break his no-trade clause if things don't improve. Why would he stay and be miserable. However, he also has to be able to overcome his injury history. He won't be much of a big deal if he plays less than 100 games each season. so there's that. But right now the team is a mess. It has no bullpen and the 'core' players are mailing it in for the most part. I always compare them with my other favorite team, also going nowhere this season...the Orioles. At least they are winning and having some fun with these no-pressure games. And the good it does is to at least get a glimpse of who will help them in 2026 and who won't. O's may end up with the highest winning % of any of the last place teams, not that its all that significant. But winning is always more fun, no matter where you sit.
  6. 2 yrs in a row the Twins went on vacation over the last month of the season. Playing about as bad as a team not named the Rockies could play (except even the Rockies started playing a little better) When you look in the dictionary under (don't care) there is the picture of the Twins...again. Some bad teams at least do play spoiler. The Orioles have won 4 straight from the Padres and Dodgers...two teams vying for 1st. O's have zero to play for in the standings but at least they are enjoying the wins lately. But Twins are playing right now with the passion of a sloth. There is nothing there. They are losing a lot of close games because they look like they want them over with. Watching them blow leads all over the place against the horrid Whitesox would make any fan not want to come to the ballpark anymore. Hey, if the Twins finish up 0-21, they can lose 100. Go for it. Don't these guys have any pride left in their jobs? On a most serious note....when you don't have anything close to resembling a bullpen, you sure won't win very many games. They are at least proving that for all to see.
  7. Totally embarrassing series. Twins blowing leads late with a bullpen that probably couldn't get beer league hitters out. While Twins are simply mailing it in Sox are having fun winning games and trying not to lose 100. Bright spot is Keaschall who has only failed to get a hit in 5 games and whose BA has never dipped below .300 . He's a keeper. Bit he's kinda lost in the sea of mediocrity that surrounds him. For 2nd straight year a miserable finish to a sorry season.
  8. problem is..you can't overlook 1 inning, especially when 7 runs score. It changes everything...mostly its usually impossible to come back that far behind so late in the game. Nice that Buck got his career tying 28th HR and now extends his career high RBI total to 68. He won't be a 30-30 guy because he needs 9 more steals and while he has a lot of speed, he doesnt; steal a lot of bases. Maybe he'll swipe 4 or 5 more. He has yet to get caught, but he also isn't an aggressive base stealer.
  9. No strong feelings either way. But observtions: If we were having this same conversation about 20 or so years ago, people would think we all crackers. The guy has won 3 straight batting titles, which very few have ever done. But suddenly BA is a dirty word about MetricLand. While he's 'off' a bit this year, so is all of MLB. There may not be 10 .300 hitters combined leagues. Getting hits still matters. Also Twins hitters love to strike out. I think its in their contracts to make sure that they kill at least one rally per game with a 'k'. At least Arraez makes contact. which might be an asset of sorts to a team of free swingers. If the guy's 1 dimension is getting hits, could be worse? I'd offer him a 1 year contract for a reasonable amount and see what you get. 1st base doesn't necessarily require power if you have it elsewhere. Having said all that, it will never happen, but at least it sparked some decent conversation.
  10. This season is toast. So 2026 is the 'hope' right now. They are going thru the motions motionless. Buck is into one of his classic slumps that will see his BA drop over 30 points. Thought for sure 30+ HR s was a lock and maybe 80-85 RBI. not anymore. Wallner is hitting long balls but nothing else. Keaschall looks very good. But overall the team is lifeless. CHISOX won't be the worst team this year. (In the AL..yes) Rockies will probably lose 110. Just an overall lousy season. Needs to be over but there is still 4 weeks of bad baseball left.
  11. I'll toss this in here. tonite in Rochester they inducted long time GM Dan Mason into the Wings Hall of Fame. Mason is probably one of the most highly respected GM's in baseball..a total class act. One of the guests who was interviewed was former Twins GM Bill Smith who was on hand to honor Mase. During the discussion he said recently that in talking with Terry Ryan, Ryan said with no reservations that the affiliation with Rochester was the best he ever had in all his years of being involved with the Twins or anyone else...and Dan Mason had a lot to do with that. High praise. Special night for the Red Wings organization. And some fond memories of our affiliation with the Twins. Wanted to share that.
  12. Yes bucks run would have only tied but you gotta tie to keep playing. When your fastest player won't do what is necessary to try and win that's selfish. It bordered on no Brainer that he had to run. But oh well..just another loss in a lost season. Someone here doesn't agree with any of this based on a thumbs down...but I respect all opinions. We are all just fans! We can see things from many sides.
  13. Poor managing in extras. You have one of the fastest runners and successful base stealers on 2nd. You need one run. Twins offense stalled yet Buxton stays glued to 2nd. Unacceptable at any level. Use your assets for Pete's sake. If he's on 3rd he scores on Keaschalls ground ball. Thebunting strategy was fine except for poor execution. The wild pitch was the dagger and also Unacceptable in Manfred Time. It handed Tigers the game. But for me theobvious strategy for a speedy runner not to even try to steal a base is just poor baseball...losing baseball so Twins deserved their fate. The k's also didn't help. A loss that frankly should have been a win but for some sub par fundamental baseball. This one hurt.
  14. I agree with the move. Injury prone like Buxton Twins can't afford to have them both out so much. I'm not saying good riddance at all..and the return was abysmal...but the time had come. Twins will always.pinch pennies with current owners so financially it made sense. We'll see if the team responds down the stretch
  15. The lineup is deplorable. Filled with k's. Last 3 losses late were as predictable as sun rising. They don't have a closer and they don't havsee hitters who can produce runs in the clutch. Half the team disappeared this week with zero replacements. The fans are being robbed. Have no idea what the plan really is save maybe in a few years things will be better. Since the last month of 2024 this team is dead
  16. Twins lineup against Cleveland resembled a cobbled together AA or AAA lineup. Was it smart to totally destroy the team like that? I detest what has happened to baseball. You hand out outrageous long contracts; you then can't afford them when they have to be resigned or need to be traded; you then dump good teammates for a stable of untested young suspects. It's a crappy business and fans pay the price.I give both Twins and O's a big F for how they have handled this season so maybe I'm wrong but the message is stay home fans...we couldn't care less about you this season. When will the future start being now for this franchise?
  17. Twins have lost their mind. They simply gave away Correa and Jax for basically a couple of Topps baseball cards. They dumped 5heir closer and a very effective Coulombe. Bader and France were mainstays. Team has just told the fans you may as well stay home now because we have totally given up. Join the Orioles who have decided to collect low minor league pitching suspects and forfeit the rest of this season ,(-perhaps). Do I hate what Twins have done? Yeah probably. Draft picks and lower A and AA pitchers are a total risk. Others will disagree and say this was a great day and maybe by 2028 Twins could contend again. Who knows really. Bottom line after today...NFL opens in a few weeks and hockey training camp isn't too far off.
  18. wildcard race is pretty clogged up. Twins need to get back to .500 first....then go after the 3rd spot aggressively. Playing well against the 1st place Cubs is a good sign. Now, please......don't let Buck be hurt.
  19. Twins are a total train wreck right now. It requires effort to lose NINE straight 1-run games. But they are also losing blowouts. The team is dysfunctional. (The Orioles are the same. Going nowhere) the pitching staff collectively has left the building. No one is reliable. Season is simply sliding into oblivion.
  20. They are giving up 10+ runs just about every game lately. That puts way too much strain on the hitters who feel like they all must hit 6 run Homer's. Its wearing on them because the team less Buxton looks lifeless. Can't believe that this same team that won 13 straight has fallen apart so badly and thoroughly. They aren't competitive at all. But nobody is catching Detroit this year. A WC might still be possible but it's slipping away fast.
  21. He's a mess right now but actually it started late last season when he refused to try another position when asked. Then he stopped hitting. Right now he hasn't earned a spot on this roster
  22. Lewis started his decline last year. First he complained too much about the position the Twins were asking him to play. Then the inevitable injuries. Then the bat went ice cold. This season, injury again. Followed by an even colder bat. Barely hitting over .100 and 1 for his last 26. He doesn't belong in the lineup. He is adding nothing. Turning out not to be super star everyone thought. Needs more time in AAA, and perhaps one more shot at a big league stay. Doesn't look very optimistic though. He has totally lost it.
  23. Lewis is not hitting and that has to be a concern. Yes he's back in the lineup but he looks like the Lewis of last September who was totally clueless. Anyone ok with his very slow start at the plate?
  24. Coming up a series featuring two disgruntled under performing teams that should be better but aren't. I would watch Lewis very carefully. He may not be that 'big bat' we all thought. Too often injured; too much whining last year; far too many k's have really taken away the shine on this guy. Will be interesting to see what he brings. All the other comments about our under performing offense are valid. Correa had been a huge disappointment so far. I wouldn't trade our biggest assets ..our starting pitchers..but I would like to see them give us at least 7 innings. I have no clue what we will see against the struggling injury wracked O's. Over there they have the torches and pitchforks out for manager and GM...very loudly. Stay tuned!!
