  1. D C. Twins,. Last year we had three teams tanking. Next year we may have two depending on what Chicago does. With 19 games against each means we should win 70% against a tanking team. That's 13.3 wins against each tanking team. Against a team competing we should fall in the 60-40 or 55-45 depending on how competitive they are so against the Sox I would go so far as to say we should win around 55% of the time with more moves by both teams. That comes out to 10.45 wins. Close to a 3 win difference. Allow for variance and now we are a 96-98 win team without regression. With regression. I would say we are a 90-95 win team. And the 87-92 is if we are in a division where there are no tanking teams.
  2. If we want to upgrade it's gonna be for someone like Donaldson or if LA signs Donaldson we could trade for Turner.
  3. Why trade for Seager when we can sign a similar 1B for 5-8 million. Lots of those to choose from...Moreland, Cron, Smoak, Thames to name a few.
  4. I can see him here in Minnesota for the next 3 seasons. His career wont be long 4 to 6 seasons max. He is a solid 3rd string C that can play other positions. if he can OPS close to .700 he is OK as a back up. adding C means he can get away with a .680 OPS and still be valuable. I put the over / under on career at bats at 1500. I just hope he gets to do something fun in a World Series while he is on the team. That way he will be remembered forever in Minnesota.
  5. With Rendon and Simmons in the IF, Keuchel makes a lot of sense. He won't cost as much either. While Bumgarner and Ryu would be nice. They already have Pujols, Trout, and now Rendon on the books for close to 100 million. That makes me think Tehran would be the 2nd pitcher they prefer, or someone in that range who can pitch 180 innings
  6. The Twins would likely want another good bullpen arm or two. Romo and or Hudson or Bellatance.
  7. I was thinking Boston could turn around and flip Rosario or another OF of their choosing for prospects.
  8. Rosario for Price and 21 million from Redsox. Twins net out adding 17 million to payroll and get a good starting pitcher. May have enough in budget to sign Donaldson. so that makes the decision based on how much of a difference is there between Larnach or Killeroff and Rosario next season?
  9. I wonder if the trade rumors for Rosario would lead to enough payroll space to add Ryu and Donaldson? Adding both players would sell lots of tickets I think.
  10. I don't think Ryu is a good fit for the Angels as they have injury issues in the rotation already. They would probably rather have 2 pitchers who can throw 180 innings with more certainty Keuchel and Terehen. They have other holes to fix as well. I think we are waiting to see if Madbum goes to LA.
  11. Seeing Tanner Roark get 2/24 makes the Pineda deal look better and also justifies what you are talking about in your post.
  12. Also I like the trade where we sent nothing...I mean the ability to spend a million...in two different trades for two different prospects.
  13. When we traded for Odorizzi he was coming off a down year where he was injured and his stuff seemed to decline. Most teams were worried that paying him 6.3-4 million and giving up prospects would be too much. Odorizzi turned that around.
  14. Bumgarner to Dodgers, Ryu and Keuchel to the Angels right? Then who's left?
  15. I'm not going to say anything he Twins never sign impact free agents. It's just rare. Nelson Cruz says hello by the way...
  16. Also Donaldson for 3/54 is really light. Try 3/75 or more likely 4/88-92
  17. Because of how competitive we are right now, I would be disappointed if we don't get 1 of Donaldson, Bumgarner, Ryu, or Keuchel. I like Tony and Rodney's idea if Alex Wood and Tehren. Or Wood and Tanner Roark if need be.
  18. Avila is half the cost of Castro. That alone makes this a good signing considering there is no drop off in offense. And the defense difference isn't enough of a change either. So finding a placeholder till Jeffers is ready at half what we paid last year is worth it to me.
  19. I guess I should add we can always move Graterol to the bullpen in late July to save some wear and tear and have a better pen.
  20. I would imagine there is a little flexibility in the 135-140. But in the spirit of 135. I would rather have an innings eater than Hill but I would want Donaldson. So Keuchel and Donaldson works for me. Add Gausman if we can hit 140ish.
  21. If the Twins go with Keuchel and Donaldson I hope they also go after Gausman or another reclamation project to compete for the 5th spot in the rotation. I also would like to see them get another pen arm. trade for Giles?
  22. I like Gleeman's idea of Bumgarner and Donaldson. Do you think Donaldson would take an extra year at a lower AAV? Say 4 year 88 instead of 3/75?
  23. I like this move. If we can't bring back Castro, this is the next best thing. Jeffers should be ready for 2021.
  24. I love.the signing as it takes a lot of pressure off. We need a real good starter, but at this point we just need to do better than Gibson and Martin to improve the rotation. Also at this price I wonder if there is enough to sign Donaldson to a three year deal after we sign Bumgarner?
  25. If the Twins resign Pineda, the question becomes....does the other starting pitcher the Twins sign and Dobnak make a better combo than Gibson and Martin? And with that other pitcher will we be able to afford a player like Donaldson For 3b?
