  1. Is the dumpster πŸ”₯ finally out will Willi being the last to go? This seems so different than 2018, that was a housecleaning followed by the 2019 that won 100+ games. 2025? This feels like an evacuation. It might take 2026 and 2027 to win 100 games.
  2. Even if that's true....Twins paid a premium price. Twins paid $100 for every nickle the Royals paid.
  3. Your forgetting a huge component of why this trade is so bad. Its riddled with risk. The measuring stick is Chapman vs Duran. An aging rental player vs a 27 year old with 2+ years of control. Why the heck do you think Philly fans are peeing their pants.
  4. Lewis? Maybe. Ober, Jax... yes. Two others come to mind. Arraez and Duran. And thats why it bites. Even when they do develop a great player, like Arraez or Duran… They don’t keep them. They flip them for "value" and "balance," usually involving pitching, which, ironically, is the very thing Falvey was supposed to fix internally. * Arraez wasn't selected by Falvey, but he was developed.
  5. Comparing that trade to this one is like comparing a bowling ball to a tennis ball...the only thing they have in common is they are both round.
  6. Your spot on. This is what a good trade looks like. Royals traded a rental (Chapman) and got Cole Ragansβ€”now their ace. Twins traded Jhoan Duranβ€”an electric, controllable closerβ€”and got a maybe #4 starter and an 18-year-old. One team sold high. The other sold out.
  7. "Yes we won 2 of 3 against Dodgers". You might want to check the box scores on the Dodgers series. They lost 2 of 3.
  8. That's in support of gifting him away? That’s illogical. Meant to say...Pressly was a 2x All-Star
  9. This organization is doomed with Falvey in charge, the man has out done himself. It’s baffling. Falvey was hired for his pitching development chops β€” yet: He’s traded away Pressly, who becomes a 2x All-Star and now DurΓ‘n. Got almost nothing MLB-ready in return, Still hasn’t developed a single dominant homegrown starter. This deal might surpass the Pressly trade in sheer value loss. DurΓ‘n is better, younger, and cheaper than Pressly was in 2018. The man has out done himself.
  10. Hmmm.....I see the process...one inning of torture per guy...spare one.
  11. Your being far to gracious...more like worse to horrid... πŸ˜€ Just checked the order of the adjectives. Bad = a general level of poor performance. started Aug. 2024 Worse = a comparative, indicating decline...continues into 2025. Horrid = emotionally charged and extreme, suggesting something not just poor, but repulsive or miserable...NOW.
  12. If you include last seasons collapse 11-23. Minus the 13 game win streak. Twins winning % is only .380 Only two team below that in 2025 are CWS and COR. It reveals just how much of a mirage that streak was, a bright spot in what’s otherwise been a prolonged nosedive stretching nearly a full calendar year now.
  13. I turned it on for half an inning and that was all I could take.
  14. I had to see it to believe it. They even did it with a hit. This team is just futile.
  15. The sad thing is… A 90-year-old grandma in a wheelchair could sit on her couch at home and still call a better game than the average MLB umpire behind the plate. And that’s the truth. Until MLB finally implements automatic balls and strikesβ€”and gives an umps in the booth the authority to quickly reverse bad calls, this junk will never end. Never. Fans are tired of hearing about the "human element" when it’s really just a fancy way of defending poor judgment. We’ve got the technology. We’ve got the angles. There’s zero excuse for letting blown calls dictate games in 2025. Fix it then MLB. Your umps suck!
  16. You've probably had back issues yourself and know how disabling it can be...this is a huge concern I agree.
  17. But Paddack is pitching,. ( Cue the Violins ) 🎡 "There can be miracles When you believe..
  18. You can always edit your post, just tap the three dots bar. ●●● in upper right corner.
  19. Brooks Lee reminds me a lot of a young Torii Hunter. It took Torii nearly 800 plate appearances before he finally broke out in 2001 at age 25. Before that, he hit just .251 with little power and shaky plate discipline. Sound familiar? I'm high on Brooks Lee, he's a keeper.
  20. Isn't Ober still on the DL. If so, that's 4.
  21. If the 40 man balancing act isn't enough, Trov didn't even mention options, or how many times a player on the 40-man roster can be sent down to the minors during a single season. Under the current rules (since the 2022 CBA), a player can be optioned to the minors no more than 5 times in one season. After that, if a team wants to send him down again, they have to designate him for assignment (DFA) β€” which means he’s exposed to waivers and can be claimed by another team. And realize, SWR for example was send down, then returned. That two times. He has 3 option left.
  22. Yep...1972...i was just a young punk sitting in right field when Mickey Stanley launched a laser. Just cleared the fence by a foot. It was Monday Night game of the week too...so national TV. Was wearing my green hockey practice jersey. Twins lost 2-1 despite out hitting Detroit 11 to 6.
  23. It's probably the main reason it took so long for him to get in the HofF. All those Gopher balls. I caught one of those homerun ....err...it actually bounced off my friends arms right into my hands...just a foot above the outstretched glove of Tony O. It was the winning run in the game. Still have the ball....gonna see what number it was on Berts all time list. The ball i caught was Blyleven's #39/480.
  24. I think the SF has the most annoying fan base. In my experience at least. I lived in LA for 7, SF for 3 NY for 2. Angel fans were the most tame.
