  1. Where is Austin Voth when you need him? ( spot starter vs Dodgers) Update: DFA by Twins. Picked up and DFA'D by Rangers. Now in South Korea, with the Samsung Lions of the KBO League.
  2. Here's the rules....I was not sure what the rule was...he entered with a 6-run lead, it was not a save/hold situation to begin with (a hold requires a lead of 3 runs or fewer, unless pitching 3+ finishing innings).
  3. Will Sands get credited with a Hold today? Technically why not?
  4. I didn't make the original comment....was only commenting on what "gutted " means. You said it was the bullpen. Yet...involved 3 everyday players.
  5. They trade Harrison Bader, Willie Castro, and Carlos Correa.....3 everyday players... 1/3 of the line-up..... How many guys do you have to trade to officially "gut" a team?
  6. I second that! The disparity in MLB is absurd: The Dodgers' luxury tax bill alone (around $160 million+) is bigger than the entire active payrolls of about a dozen MLB franchises, including the Twins.
  7. Thank you for a strong dose of common sense for once. People want to "buy" to prop up a lost cause, rather than "sell" to build for a legitimate team in 27 or 28?
  8. No like that at all....analogy is seriously flawed. Bay area completely different. SF 49srs move 40 miles away....out of SF....fan just followed. Fans in Bay area can easily watch MLB if the want, NHL, NBA and NFL.
  9. Oakland fans can just jump on B.A.R.T....easy ride to almost any where... Surprised A's lasted as long as they did.
  10. True...but there are also 3 teams less than a game behind them. Balt, Houston, Detroit, and don't count Toronto out yet either. If just one of these teams get hot, the odds slip for Minnesota.
  11. A lot of hope in this thread....not saying its not possible....but the stats simple say...it's not probable, that the Minnesota Twins makes the playoffs. RA: 528 ! ! ! Even if Texas falls off the board, Twins still have to overtake Cleveland or Boston. Highly unlikely.
  12. Twins are 2-5 vs the "struggling" Royals this year. 0-0 vs A's.... who knows what will happen....that's why they play the games. I hope for the best, not surprised by the worst....its baseball and it's the Twins.
  13. Twins have 9 games before the trade deadline. Between now and then is when they determine to buy or sell. Walls are closing in. They will sell.
  14. Incredible win....but with Boston figuring it out as a legit team.....Wild Card chances are only slimmer. Twins probably need to catch Cleveland to reach the postseason. Twins are sellers.
  15. Batting Practice? Zebby is better than that! 😀
  16. I keep hearing the Twins have a "log-jam" of outfielders. A true "logjam" is when two guys are hitting .290 with 20 homers and someone gets squeezed onto the bench. In reality, outside of Buxton, all the Twins actually have right now is just a rotation of unproven MLB players and or mediocre ones at that.
  17. Only reason to keep watching this train wreck is to see if Cleveland can score in all 8 innings.
  18. If the current roster on the field isn't a serious contender, holding onto players just to finish third in one of baseballs weakest division is pointless.
  19. The best decisions are usually difficult and unpopular. Apply some "probability" logic to the situation, and you move him at the deadline. Final factor is I believe he wants out anyways.
  20. David Festa returns by mid August? I would love to see him pitch out of the pen. Have there been any recent updates on his status?
  21. Yesterday and Angels broadcaster said the Twins had the most potent offense in the A.L. Surely he's wrong I thought. He was right, but as we all know.... "Good pitching beats good hitting." ( The first things my dad taught me about baseball as an 8 year old is still the most important thing.)
