    It's amazing how one pitcher can face 21 batters, throw 88 pitches, and give up 2 hits....only to have the next guy entirely reverse that in 10 pitches.

    Q: How did Kirby Puckett, who played on artificial turf, rarely miss a game? He only missed 15 games from 1985-1989. His following seasons were also impressive. Torii Hunters numbers are similar. Yet today, seems like players are constantly injured. My theory is players are more concerned about their futures, staying on the field long-term to keep the pay checks coming than they are about the short-term. They think of themselves more as commodities and baseball as a business. Gamers like Puckett are far more rare today. MLB has changed. AND....who can blame them? If I was in their shoes, I'd probably think the same way.

    Does anyone care? Great question. Over the years I've traveled to see the Twins on the road in several cities.....I use to attend an average of 20 games a year here at home. Now I refuse to support the Twins....haven't been to Target Field in 5 years. I am committed to the Twins as they are to putting a competitive team on the field.

(Together Correa and Buxton are being paid $48 million. Accounting for 37% of the team's entire payroll.) An entirely different conversation, but the number of injury prone players this team signs and trades for is alarming.

    Not surprised at all Sonny left. I believe he was frustrated in MN with the hyper analytical approach in handling the pitching staff. It was a quick exodus......what does that tell you?

    Gray has talked about retiring.....we'll see. He's had a good career. Maybe he comes back in 2024, here or elsewhere. Probably bugs him he closed the year with a clunker.

    Twins were out managed. How fitting, Pressly polishes them off, another wasted trade, we get two AAA players in exchange for an All-Star, World Series winning , record setting closer. A. J. Pierzynski nailed in the broadcast....(after Rocco pulls Ryan) "all it takes is for one guy in the bullpen to have a bad day and the game could be over". What a call.

    I had to step away from the game in the top of the 4th, Came back to see Berrios pitching left-handed!!!!! What? Could not believe it, I just assume he was injured. Everything going Twins way, hope this trend continues.

    No mention of Billy Hitchcock in the article...WHO? Billy grounded into 30 DP in only 399 at bats in 1950...that's one DP per 13.3 at bats....Unless Carlos hits into a slew of DPs....at least he won't hold that dubious diss-stink-sion.     Buxton has been injured or disabled for over 50% of his time with the Twins. In comparison, Puckett and Hunter were on the field over 90% of the time. Just unfortunate for both Buxton and Twins fans.

    World Series win without a doubt......it's all about the memories made....those last forever. Will never forget the euphoria that filled the Twin Cities in 87, and the memories made of watching the Twins take it all with my friends and family. 91 was just as wonderful, but 87 came as a shocker. World Series Champions merch under the Christmas tree in 87 galor. Good memories man....all about the memories.....besides, when you team bites, their is usually something good on Netflix.

    Do not mind the discussion, it is where we are. Just wish we weren't having it. I m a g i n e ... if you can ...Back in Feb. Falvey decides the bullpen is a priority, and spends 11 Million on that rather than Gallo. I m a g i n e that world if you can.

    Personally....I believe the Twins owners took Falvey's and Levin's phones and locked them up in a safe until the deadline was over......They've done enough damage the last few years to keep the Twins submerged in mediocrity for years. 500 is a good year. Get use to it.

    Love the headline....I was at the last game the Twins won...... Joe May pitched I believe. All downhill since....Just checked.....Twins won a game in 2003 vs NYY....this was the last win at home....so Twins are 1-22 in last 23 playoff games.

    Not sure how the Pohlads have handcuffed Falvey and Levine, 11M to Gallo, 200M to Correa, 73M to Lopez, etc, etc.....this FO just does not know how to trade well or who to dish the money out to. Personally I hope the 2023 season blows up, (repeat of 2022) signaling a need for a change in leadership, FO and on the field.

    All I know....is the track record speaks for itself, I am ready for a change in the FO. This FO keeps finding ways to making the future less and less bright. The Twins current brand of baseball bores me.... all you to do to announce a Twins game is perfect...."a swing and a miss"...half your job is done.

    Has anyone in this thread pointed out the obvious....NONE of today's free agents want to play for a team north of Iowa...at least not one without a dime stadium.
