Sad state of affairs!!! MLB needs a salary cap (floor and top end)....and Harper can eat it. Baseball isn't fair to over half the clubs right now!

Correa, although a great teammate, hadn't lived up to his salary. Also, Twins go cheap in fre agency bin. Bader has been decent. Lastly, Twins bring up their prospects by the time they qualify for social security; if they haven't figured out they are good enough by 23...seek new scouts.

Trade either Jax or Duran....and don't get screwed...get 2 legit, high end prospects ..minimum. See if Correa would also drop his ni-trade claus ang get a few more high-end prospects. Wallner has to go down and Keashall is now a mainstay. The other rookie (can't name him...outfielder...can't hit ..period). If Ryan is traded to Red Sox, get more than just Duran (who I like a lot)...also need a very high-end prospects in deal. Now, in summation, Twins will have a new ownership next year, let alone can fill squad with better free agents in positions if need (predicted higher budget), and not borderline players, let alone starting pitchers coming if TJ surgeries!!!!!!!!!!

Twins 5, Angels 0: It's So Not Joever
Dawgzilla replied to Hans Birkeland's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
That IS pitching. That was fun to watch (Ryan)! I was a pitcher and was real happy the way Ryan pitched. He used his amazing slider perfectly, and spotted his fastball (at his locations), kept defense in game (low pitch counts), etc.! Twins offense still struggled, but Ryan's game kept me watching! His stats this year are All-Star; he will probably be only Twin making that game.- 30 replies

I don't know what is worse, the weather there today or their pathetic offense! What a snoozefest of an offense!!! How many guys are hitting around .200, let alone have very few rbis??!!!! I don't know if they have a game plan when coming to the plate, which is part of their job! Yes, I do know that hitting a 4+ inch ball, coming in fast (and at different angles) with a fairly thin "stick" is fairly tough, but these are "pros" and get paid a lot. Striking out 35%+ is unreal....c'mon man!!!!!!

Meaning they could have their no trade deal waived if beneficial to them and if they had Twin's team interests involved also (they are in good terms with team and are not the types to burn team).

I know, but they could have them waived, under right trade circumstance.

"Returning" or retiring do to chronic injuries😉, tongue-n-cheek, but touche'! The same for Buxton and Correa= both seem to have hit the perverbial wall. Seems like Buck just swings and hopes to hit something that is in center of strike zone, meaning not much of a professional hitting game plan. I have no idea what is going on with Correa! Not good when your best two hitters have about 13 total rbis and under a totality of .200 average! Sorry for the negativity, but attendances will prove my point in the future! I would pckg both players for multiple high rated prospects for those offering. Paddock and Vazquez could be traded to. El Mustachio and Julien should be in Triple A...for injury insurance, not on the big league roster.

Brutal is summation! Team has zero "fire"/excitement level! Name a player that is "much watch"? I'm waiting! Buxton would be the closest, but he is still not that. Lastly, where are the player+s) that most teams have come up that are young and explosive (outside Lewis...who is always hurt)? Again, I'm waiting!! By the time they bring a "stud" (cough) up he qualifies for Medicare!
-
Wow! What a terrible squad! Twins scouting stinks too to exasperate future projections. Twins never bring guys up that they have drafted young that turn out to be real studs! Look at the Braves, Tigers, Orioles, Rays, etc. as examples of having young talent, multiple ones at that, that come up early and are pretty successful; Twins bring their "future stars" up when they qualify for Medicare, if even maybe not a star they thought they drafted, then instructed in minors. Analytics are also somewhat over thought, let alone over rated. Sometimes you have to go by your gut feeling too. Rocko needs to have more fire in his belly, shake the team up a little, like Lasorda, Billy Martin, Earl Weaver, Lou Pinella, etc ..! Bye bye attendance!!!!!

Brutal games to watch....very boring!!!!??? Again, team can't hit and pitchers fold late in games= disaster and a 4-9 record to go with it. I wouldn't go, even if tickets are free, being I'm from outstate, would have to pay much for multiple good seats (if payed), parking costs, hotel costs, gas to get there, concessions are expensive, etc ..! No thanks! It really is hard to "pay" just watching them on TV, even though my cable did agree to cover them= I'm sure there is a price hikes coming soon for it....whatever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
No impetus to watch...no zip, zest, fire, excitement to. Owners make fans not want to go. Twins can't hit worth a ___! Waayyy to much to go watch a team that isn't going anywhere, let alone not backed by present ownership. Lastly, MLB has a real problem with the money teams and the proverbial "small market teams", meaning most teams have little to no chance in present format to sniff a world series!!!! This also is another reason for poor attendance. Sorry!!!!

Whom Should Brooks Lee Replace on Twins Roster?
Dawgzilla replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Gasper and Julien need to go down, Miranda a little more time, then make a move if no improvement! Brooks Lee should be rostered when healthy and Royce too, obviously.- 91 replies

This is a bad hitting team. Pitching may straighten out, but that means no better than a 77-85 season. No zeal, zest, fire from hitters. But and Correa no way play above 110 games each. A lot of monies tied up for not top 50 players in MLB, let alone physically capable of playing. Like Bud Grant said, "The best ability is availability".

Oh, one last post: How in the h.e. double toothpick aren't the players physically ready for opening day, with over a month to prepare. This also goes for NFL football players, when they say "it is early in the season, they are getting their legs, they are knocking the rust off", etc.?!!!! Whatever!!! They have time......and are PROs!!!!!!

Team has no "it", meaning no fire/zest/reason for excitement. Correa and Buxton will be hurt sometimes, if not season ending injury. There are zero "superstars" on team. Yes, Buck and Carlos are good, but not for how much they are on the field, let alone salary wise. Nice guys, yes, but those don't put the team over the hump. Also, Twins ownership doesn't seem to want a championship. They get new stadium, but never go after a real stud, or two, to actually win in the playoffs. Then, they blame attendance, or lessor of it, for reason for belt tightening. Lastly, the t.v. rights torked many off! How can you support a team that is not "all in", let alone can't watch (outstate market, unless you pay!!!), and tickets/concessions/souvenirs/etc. are outrageous at games! To summize. looonnnggg season, if you can watch or go to game. Looks like biking, going to lakes, going to minor league games, bbqing, etc. is what will happen this summer. Sad!!!!!! MLB needs a salary floor and ceiling, otherwise make two divisions for the "haves and have not"/small market teams away from large market teams!!!!!

Hello no! The parity of MLB is horrendous! Sell the team or move it. If you are in business, you want to always make money, sometimes that doesn't, then adjust. Now, if you are hemorrhaging money continuously, reset, remodel, revamp, etc.....or sell the losing proposition, like to a winner. Like the captain of the w w. 2 battleship Washington said, "move aside, I'm coming through"! His ship was the only battleship to sink another in straight conflict with another. The haves and have not have waaaayyy to much discrepancy in payrolls. Yes, having the highest payroll doesn't always win you a championship, but it surely increases your odds of not only making the playoffs (every year), not to mention always be in contention; the same can't be said for the "small market teams". And don't give me this how many championships the Yankees have won, let alone Dodgers and the likes, most titles were bought through free agency spending, some withstanding!!!

Not only couldn't they bunt, but they had about 20 steals all year...kidding, but not far from truth. I always like a manager and players that are aggressive, forcing teams to make perfect plays, usually works out for team who is aggressive. I like teams that are "conservative" to a football team trying to maintain a lead with a "prevent defense" which actually prevents you from winning most times!!!!!!
-
No! Waaaayyy to many injuries! He is talented, but unreliable; as Bud Grant famously once stated, "the best ability is availability"! Nice guy, but trade him, with a caveat: spend more money to bring in a winner for a change, which ownership owes the Twins fans with their "new stadium so we can compete"....what a bunch of dung!
-
You are either "in it to win it" or sell the team; no more "small market" bull dung! Television rights have to be cleared up too for outstate residents to follow, otherwise you lose them altogether! Payroll must be in the top ten also!

Twins Announce GM Thad Levine Will Not Return for 2025
Dawgzilla replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Probably a nice guy, but things need to change. Now, that being said, the Pohlads' need to sell the team to be "competitive", with the recognition they received a new funded stadium to do just that, yet the salary is lower, let alone "mid-tier" in comparison to league average, meaning fans were screwed. MLB has a major problem with the "haves" and "have nots", using "small market" as the usual excuse! I like Buxton a lot, but I would trade him for a player that actually is capable of playing mostly a full season for a change. Correa looks to go on the D.L. o 2-3 times a year for his foot problem, which is chronic apparently. Then you have the Twins always going after retread pitchers, pitchers coming off a major surgery, etc. that can't make it through the first 2 months. Who heck is the medical team doctor when acquiring pitchers??????????!!!! Lastly, two more points: 1) Payroll needs to rise to at least 150 million 2) Television needs to get fixed for outstate residents, whom can't make games regularly! You lose total interest if there are television rights that people can watch, with the caveat can afford too!!!!- 122 replies
