  1. The Twins aren't going to spend 30mil on FA's. They just aren't. Lopez, Ryan, Jeffers and maybe even Ober are likely to be gone cutting about 45mil from payroll. If the players association makes a stink about it they will make the claim that they are losing 40mil this year and attendence is sagging. My best bet is they make more trades lowering payroll and overpay on some long has been veterans. They know they aren't competing, think the past 6 weeks, so why sign high priced good players?
  2. Everyone says Keirsey is no good. I still don't know if he is or not. But getting 15-20 PA's a month no one is going to thrive with that. But I also suspect his chance is now gone. Clemens, I would love if he is a bench backup player. But I would hope that someone would be developed that would put him in this bench role. Mismanagement seems to be the mo of this organization under Falvey regime. As long as he continues to head the FO a WS is something we will have no hope of attaining.
  3. I've never been a huge fan of Richardson. But he has proven himself a whole lot more than Matthews and Festa have. Or Bradley. He's not going to be discarded.
  4. Keep Buxton in CF. He's a known commodity. Unlike Jenkins and the ever injured emrod. Going back generations there have been older players that man CF quite well. It could possibly be that now that Buxton has managed to tone down his aggressive play in the field that he will play more and be injured less. We saw how well he performed as a DH. He didn't. Why mess with his game again.
  5. I for one am fine with playing the people we have in the system now in 2026. Let's find out what we have and see if what we have will improve. This team isn't contending in 2026. At least most of us don't see that happening. And if it does, great. Let it be with what we have. We have veteran players already. Jeffers, Buxton, Larnach, even Lewis are now veteran players. We can shout from the rooftop about Bader as being proof for signing veterans from around the league, but what difference did it make to the 2025 team? We were losing when he was here.
  6. Martin has earned the chance to play everyday for the rest of this season. He's outperformed most of the rest of this shipwreck over the last month. I believe he is a player but I believe he also needs to earn it. But he has earned September playing time. I concur with some others, this is the kind of player people have been clamoring for. Now when he is here he gets picked apart. What I do disagree with from the article is that Martin will do best with having a regular position to play at. I don't see him as some sort of super utility player.
  7. he's the 25th or 26th man on the team. Lets not make him more than he is. If we do we'll be looking at 100 loss seasons.
  8. Fire Falvey and Balldelli. But since that's not going to happen the team will continue to go downward. Yes the hole can get deeper.
  9. The picture of the owner in the lead of the story he looks like a clown. His ownership resembles that of a clown as well. He should sell the team and audition for a circus or the rodeo.
  10. Whether many like to admit it or not Wallner adds to the problem with this team. He shouldn't be in RF. Defense is very valuable and Wallner doesn't have it. I'd be ok with him shifting to DH. But at that he will be a part-time DH meaning another player still has to cover for him. He's not an elite bat. I'm also not advocating trading him. Put him at DH against righties and find another player to platoon him with.
  11. I'm fine with giving Roden a chance on a crappy 2026 Twins team. It looks like we will have nothing to lose cuz this team won't be a winner. But I have zero confidence in this FO at this point. Hype though is pointless. Fire Falvey and Rocco.
  12. As Joe Ryan implodes on this awful end of the season Twins team that Falvey put together so will the value that Falvey gets back. Knowing Falvey he'll trade him for a couple of DSL flyers.
  13. I forgot there is a game tonight. Looks like the Twins did as well.
  14. That would be Richardson. Good stuff most times once or twice through the order then he's done. Unless you're OK with a guy that only gives you 4 plus innings. But if you are, then you better have a deep pen. Which we do not. Of all the guys we've discussed of converting Richardson would be my top choice.
  15. All because the Pohlads don't run straight books and like to do some dipping. Losing money my arse.
  16. I'm fine with running Abel out there time after time the rest of this lost season. We have him and may as well use him. But his resume and the resume of the guys that traded for him give me little confidence.
  17. I'm really comforted by Joe Pohlad's commitment to winning. I can't imagine the state of affairs if he wasn't.
  18. And no excuse or reason to be playing Julien. He's had his chance. Except he hasn't cuz he's still being run out there everyday.
  19. .115 I said from the day they made the trade that he was on the team. This was malpractice. I'[m sure Gasper is a nice guy. He's a nice feel good story. Not a major league player however. Unless he's a MN twin
  20. The White Sox are a better team than the T'ins. That is obvious and a pain to write. The Falvey Rocco regime is responsible for that. One answer is also obvious, Fire them.
  21. I'm not finding the game thread today, but 7-0 in the 7th. Where's the professional baseball? This new guy Bradley makes it apparent why the Rays moved on. Even with a worse record the Sox are now a better team. Fire Falvey.
  22. As far as Lewis goes he will not be discarded or moved for an underwhelming return. The organization has too much invested at this point. The return will be significant or Lewis will remain. As for Royce, if he would let his play do his talking and learn to play for the team his play might improve significantly.
  23. I'll be interested to see if Abel puts it together. I'm not concerned over one bad start. A history of control problems though? That's a concern. But since we have an FO who has a history of not getting the job done and is responsible for the team that is out there might as well watch a prospect play as opposed to a veteran who is finished. Going on 10 years this FO has proved they can't perform though and here we still are.
  24. Between now and ST there has to be some trades coming and a starter or two being moved into relief. We have right now, Lopez, Ryan, Ober, Richardson, Matthews, Festa, Abel, Bradley, Raya, Morris, Rojas, Prielipp, and Cullpepper on the verge. Yes you have injuries. But you can't keep them all. Doing so is malpractice. The acquisitions of Abel, Bradley and Rojas was a clear signal to me that multiple moves will be happening soon. They will have to sell off some assets. As for reaching a certain payroll to appease an agreement without suffering a grievance that is easily taken care of. You can move Lopez and his salary and overpay on a vet or two and the players association is happy. We have Falvey who is very good at overpaying for veterans already.
