  1. Depending on the situation (that is, we have a lead) I would even walk him with the bases already loaded. I would much rather deal with Tucker and give up a run than have Tucker at bat any way after giving up 4.
  2. Can’t agree more. Our vets need to get the starts tonight across the board with maybe the exception of Farmer for Julien. But Solano at first, Farmer at third, and Castro in LF makes sense. The vets need to show the rooks how it’s done.
  3. By the comments here one would think our season ended today. it hasn’t. With the rangers set to close out tonight that should mean we are under the lights tomorrow, and we are a significantly better hitting team when the sun goes down. have some faith.
  4. Correct. Lets win the division series first, but assuming that happens - Buxton is swapped in for Stevenson. If Buxton needs to make a start we drop him in CF with either Taylor off the bench, or Taylor starting in LF with Wallner on the bench. Castro can play too in a pinch if the lineup gets screwy in the late innings. It may only take a couple of ABs from the starting lineup for us to know what we have with Buxton - its either going to go great and either Wallner or Taylor is going to be coming off the bench for the rest of the post season, or we're going to see very quickly why Buxton was not on the roster for the first two series. Taylor is just giving predictable results, and right now with our team being defined by solid pitching and defense, I think we can live without the extra potential for pop at the plate as long as Taylor is playing great defense. 100%
  5. I think these are two different cases to consider. Correa has been generally solid from a health standpoint throughout his career, with the exception being 2019 when he spent a chunk of time on the DL due to a non-baseball injury, and he's got an insane amount of playoff experience. Buxton, on the other hand, has never really been healthy compared to Correa, and has a total of 3 games of playoff experience. I guess what I'm saying is Correa has a playoff track record, Buxton does not. I'd love to see a healthy Buxton playing for us, and playing up to his potential, but this year isn't going to be the year for that.
  6. They definitely seemed to know more about the Astros in general. They lost me a bit last night when someone, might have been Amin (it wasn't AJ) asked something like "what was that vest he had on?" after Farmer's home run. This coming after at least one mention of how the Twins were one of the better HR hitting teams this year... The vest isn't new, and you would think they would have seen it at least a few times this season on the highlight reel. Instead it seemed like a brand-new celebration that they brought into the dugout just for the post season.
  7. The bat might be quiet at the moment, but I'm not sure I want anyone else in the league prowling CF for us right now.
  8. Two horrible called strike 3 calls to screw us in back to back innings
  9. I hope this works. We just traded a lot of power for contact at that plate. This is a wash defensively.
  10. I’m not complaining, but why was Berrios pulled??? This doesn’t make sense
  11. That was a tough grounder to field for an average 3B so i don’t fault Polanco for not coming up with it. What nobody has mentioned yet was that Correa had not moved over to backup the play in case he missed it, turning a normal play into a heroic one. Had he been there the runner wouldn’t have attempted to score.
  12. Can't emphasize Taylor enough from last night. His first catch kept the fire in the crowd going after the first Lewis HR. The 2nd catch threw gas on it.
  13. the sliders are pretty solid
  14. no mention of Correa challenging and falling just short of the single-season GIDP record????
  15. Option 2 please. No point in resting him if we can’t make it to round 2. There are way worse things we can do than be forced to have Polanco at 3B and Julien at 2B.
  16. I’m down for the walleye
  17. Long-shot for sure. But, it made the last few days way more interesting to watch.
  18. I think its all dependent on the matchups and what's going to get the biggest TV draw. If the season ended right now my guess would be the following: - Toronto at Tampa, ~1pm Eastern - Chicago at Milwaukee, ~3pm Eastern - Houston at Minnesota, ~5pm Eastern - Arizona at Philly, ~8pm Eastern Absolute speculation on my part, but this makes the core viewership in each game not having to watch anything before noon. I would also expect all of those times to get mixed up for game's 2 & 3 (if necessary).
  19. Losing a 2nd game is fine. As long as Houston ends up with no more than 89 wins. If they did lose two, as you said, then Texas wins and we still hold the tie-breaker.
  20. LAA doesn't play Houston - they have Seattle tonight, and 3 against Arizona. If I have this right - There are so many things that have to go just right. Texas has to lose to LAA tonight Seattle has to lose to Houston tonight Texas HAS to lose 3 of 4 EXACTLY against Seattle (no more no less) Houston needs to lose at least one game against Arizona ...and the Twins need to win all remaining games. This puts the final standings with Houston winning the division (89-73), Texas in 2nd (89-73), and Seattle in 3rd (88-74) The key here is the head to head records we have. If Seattle gets to 89 wins its over since they own the better h2h record against us. If Houston and Texas get to 89-73 along with the Twins, we take the #2 seed.
  21. i hope it cooperates but for selfish reasons - i like to stay dry. Booked my trip to MN for next week and have tickets for the series. Going to be my first time at Target Field and I think I picked one hell of a way to do it :-)
