  1. Given the August that Giolito put together this might not be so bad... possibly great for us. If the Guardians go 1-4 when Giolito starts then I'm all for it (as long as that 1 isn't against us).
  2. Meh… we already have enough broken multi-millionaire players on the long-term payroll. We don’t need to triple that obligation on one more unless we can unload Buxton without eating dead money, and put a healing spell on Correa’s ankle to protect it for the length of his contract. if I had to make a guess Ohtani is going to end up in SF or LA. If either of those teams had the will and the way (they do) he’s going to end up there…. Unless the Yankees make him the first $1B player.
  3. and instead of slamming the door on the division, we let lazy play allow the door to open up just a bit.
  4. Plenty of blame to go around. Duran didn't help. The offense outside of Polanco put up a big fat goose egg.
  5. just bad management of the bullpen. Pagan was doing what he was asked to do and was yanked for a stupid reason, now we're down 3. I can't believe I'm even typing this, but he's the most reliable and predictable reliever we have right now.
  6. I'm not sure what the rule is since the play was effectively stopped by the umpire. Naylor never made it to first base any way.
  7. Jim Rice holds the record - 36 in 1984. Correa is now at 28, which is now Top-50 all-time. Doing some quick match, he's averaging one DP per 5 games. If that keeps up, that will mean another 6 before the season is over, for a total of 34, which will place him 3rd all-time in MLB history.
  8. Whatever the MLB season record is for most DPs hit into during a season, I have to believe Correa is threatening that record.
  9. We aren’t (like to) play the Yankees. That’s all I read, and that’s all I needed to hear.
  10. Which is probably why he's going to stay in a bit as long as its not getting away entirely. I dont think he's going anywhere tonight until he gets to 80+ pitches.
  11. This is not the start we needed from Maeda. With the stretch of games we have he's going to have to go 5 unless its obscenely out of hand.
  12. Maeda owes a few of these guys a beer
  13. Forget wanting to be in Minnesota. Does Gallo even care about playing professional baseball any more?
  14. Oh it was bad. I saw it. Bad call and both Gallo and Rocco were right to go off on it. But not strike 3.
  15. That Gallo doesn’t want to be here?
  16. I get the complaint about strike 2. Strike 3 was borderline and you can’t take that chance. Now Gallo effed with the lineup because he doesn’t feel like doing what’s right for the team.
