  1. I'm speechless. I'm in utter shock. The Twins willingly gave this game away. They had the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the 9th and Rocco let LaMarre hit when Cron and Sano are on the bench and available. Un F**king Believable.
  2. .311/.380/.477 in AAA seems good to me. A nice feel good story of local guy getting an opportunity. He was a beast in 2018 spring training. The outfield needs some healthy bodies, nothing wrong with this move.
  3. If there was any evidence that Pineda was trying to mask another substance, MLB would have never reduced his suspension time from 80 to 60. He had a brain fart and took a diet pill to loose weight. He's human, he made a mistake. I'm sure he's beating himself up plenty enough. No need to pile on.
  4. When you're being paid millions of dollars to play the game, you give it 100% effort. Puig should have run to first because there is always a chance that Odorizzi or Cron would drop the ball in the exchange. That small chance could have allowed Puig to reach base safely and eventually score to allow his team to win. Then at the end of the season they may make the playoffs by one game all because he ran to first base on a low odds play. No matter the probability, players should give their best effort on every play. Otherwise, why play the game at all? When you play the game lazy, you give your opponent an advantage. Fans don't want lazy players on their team who give opponents an advantage! And Twins fans saw the lazy effort and scolded him for disrespecting the game, his teammates and the Cleveland fans.
  5. He took a diet pill that is a diuretic to help him lose some weight. It's not as bad as it seems. Big mistake, boneheaded move, should have asked Twin's medical staff, but no ill intent to gain a performance advantage. Thus the sentence reduction from 80 to 60 games. Let's not be excessively hard on the guy.
  6. Huge win. Takes the pressure off the team big time. Now Cleveland needs help to catch the Twins. Garver saved the day. What an amazing season he is having! Solid pitching by Odorizzi and pen. Just as I suspected would happen, Puig is becoming a distraction in the Cleveland clubhouse. Serves them right.
  7. EDDIE! WTF! Why didn't Rocco put on the "don't swing" sign. Civale obviously couldn't find the plate. Ugh!
  8. Next man up! Smeltzer, Littell, Thorpe, somebody. Opportunity has presented itself, take it and run with it!
  9. This game was sooooooo frustrating and is like a warning light that illuminates on your dashboard telling you that there's a real problem. This team has been stumbling and bumbling for far too long. CLE, OAK and TB are better teams with strong momentum, which does not bode well for the Twins' playoff aspirations.
  10. Saturday and Sunday, 24th and 25th, Twins play the Tigers, not the White Sox. Just sayin . . .
  11. Perhaps the term "murdered" is a bit excessive for the situation described.
  12. The article author needs to check the box score for this game at MLB.com. Twins players listed with multi hit games in this article are wrong other than Arraez. Also, the box score shows all three runs given up by Pineda were earned.
  13. May threw one pitch to end the 7th and hasn't pitched for a long time. With a 5 run lead there was no reason to pull him for the 8th inning. Keep May in the frigging game! Dyson is still getting settled, his head is rattling around trying to get familiar with his new team. He flew from Philly to Miami to Minneapolis in less than 12 hours. His mind and body are in different time zones. There was ZERO reason to have Dyson pitch today. Rocco's bullpen usage lately is beyond bizarre and he's showing that he's a rookie manager.
  14. I would like to see more articles like this . . . many more.
  15. Schoop and Sano are cut from the same cloth. Tons of talent, but they're both easily distracted and forget that they're supposed to be focused on playing baseball. I'll take Arraez over Schoop any day of the week. Arraez has talent and is laser focused during every at bat while Schoop lately appears like he's only 1/2 there mentally. I've tried to be patient with Sano, but he's just dead weight. He's dragging down the team's productivity with his bat and fielding and is a distraction. Sano is a very difficult situation.
  16. Buxton seems to have finally turned the corner. No doubt the injuries delayed his emergence. You can see he has the enthusiasm, passion and mental capability. This may not be popular, but Sano just isn't what we hoped he would be. The potential is there, but he's lacking the fire, passion and mental focus to put it all together. This does not diminish him as a person in any way. I'm sure he's a wonderful human being. But for those hoping he will become a great or even good MLB baseball player, it just doesn't look very likely. Maybe one day I'll have to eat my words on Sano. I hope so.
  17. Well done. Not the type of info most sports fans want to wade through, but I liked it.
  18. I never understand why when a reliever is dealing it like Harper was tonight, why the manager doesn't let him just keep dealing. He only threw 15 pitches and hasn't pitched forever and could have easily gone another inning. Ride the relievers that are doing well while they're doing well.
  19. Great article. Well written. I'm impressed.
  20. How about if you catch your step-daughter doing drugs and throw the drugs away. In retaliation, your step-daughter makes up a story that you raped her. You end up going to jail in handcuffs and have to post bail to get out and go through a lengthy, costly trial. Then it's discovered that the step-daughter just made up the story to get back at you for tossing her drugs. That's what happened to my friend. He is a military veteran with a clean record. But everyone believed the little druggie, because women must be believed, despite many proven examples of women and kids making up accusations against men. There is a very good chance that's what happened to Wetteland. Don't be so quick to judge.
  21. Very impressive assembly of information on outfielders. I won't/can't predict who will be playing outfield for the Twins, but I can appreciate a dang good article when I see one. Well done!
  22. Astudillo!!!!!! That guy is such a breath of fresh air! He just ooooozes with effort, determination, fun, excitement and enthusiasm. He is exactly what this team needs so desperately to fire up his fellow players and the fans. He is a total keeper. Forget Castro and give the catching duties to Astudillo and Garver in 2019.
  23. Twins Baseball! Because longsuffering is a virtue! (Galatians 5:22) Minnesota Twins! Kirby Puckett played for us! Twins Baseball! Better than lipstick on a pig! Minnesota Twins! We've got prospects, yes we do! We've got prospects, how 'bout you? Twins Baseball! The more we lose, the better our draft picks! Minnesota Twins! Because it's summer and you could catch a foul ball! Twins Baseball! Come watch our opponents! Their prospects become stars!
  24. Steve Lein: "The up and down records of his teams during his tenure also tells me he may not have that special sauce that extracts the best out of most of his players consistently. That's one idea I do think the great managers accomplish." THIS! Just look what happened to the Cardinals when they replaced Matheny with Shildt.
  25. Meh. Much ado about nothing. Buxton is a contracted employee. The employer is acting under the terms of the contract signed by the employee. It's a business. Said employee may have some leverage in the situation if he provided solid production for the employer, but unfortunately the employee's production has been far below his co-workers.
