  1. This game was sooooooo frustrating and is like a warning light that illuminates on your dashboard telling you that there's a real problem. This team has been stumbling and bumbling for far too long. CLE, OAK and TB are better teams with strong momentum, which does not bode well for the Twins' playoff aspirations.
  2. Saturday and Sunday, 24th and 25th, Twins play the Tigers, not the White Sox. Just sayin . . .
  3. Perhaps the term "murdered" is a bit excessive for the situation described.
  4. The article author needs to check the box score for this game at MLB.com. Twins players listed with multi hit games in this article are wrong other than Arraez. Also, the box score shows all three runs given up by Pineda were earned.
  5. May threw one pitch to end the 7th and hasn't pitched for a long time. With a 5 run lead there was no reason to pull him for the 8th inning. Keep May in the frigging game! Dyson is still getting settled, his head is rattling around trying to get familiar with his new team. He flew from Philly to Miami to Minneapolis in less than 12 hours. His mind and body are in different time zones. There was ZERO reason to have Dyson pitch today. Rocco's bullpen usage lately is beyond bizarre and he's showing that he's a rookie manager.
  6. I would like to see more articles like this . . . many more.
  7. Schoop and Sano are cut from the same cloth. Tons of talent, but they're both easily distracted and forget that they're supposed to be focused on playing baseball. I'll take Arraez over Schoop any day of the week. Arraez has talent and is laser focused during every at bat while Schoop lately appears like he's only 1/2 there mentally. I've tried to be patient with Sano, but he's just dead weight. He's dragging down the team's productivity with his bat and fielding and is a distraction. Sano is a very difficult situation.
  8. Buxton seems to have finally turned the corner. No doubt the injuries delayed his emergence. You can see he has the enthusiasm, passion and mental capability. This may not be popular, but Sano just isn't what we hoped he would be. The potential is there, but he's lacking the fire, passion and mental focus to put it all together. This does not diminish him as a person in any way. I'm sure he's a wonderful human being. But for those hoping he will become a great or even good MLB baseball player, it just doesn't look very likely. Maybe one day I'll have to eat my words on Sano. I hope so.
  9. Well done. Not the type of info most sports fans want to wade through, but I liked it.
  10. I never understand why when a reliever is dealing it like Harper was tonight, why the manager doesn't let him just keep dealing. He only threw 15 pitches and hasn't pitched forever and could have easily gone another inning. Ride the relievers that are doing well while they're doing well.
  11. Great article. Well written. I'm impressed.
  12. Very impressive assembly of information on outfielders. I won't/can't predict who will be playing outfield for the Twins, but I can appreciate a dang good article when I see one. Well done!
  13. Astudillo!!!!!! That guy is such a breath of fresh air! He just ooooozes with effort, determination, fun, excitement and enthusiasm. He is exactly what this team needs so desperately to fire up his fellow players and the fans. He is a total keeper. Forget Castro and give the catching duties to Astudillo and Garver in 2019.
  14. Steve Lein: "The up and down records of his teams during his tenure also tells me he may not have that special sauce that extracts the best out of most of his players consistently. That's one idea I do think the great managers accomplish." THIS! Just look what happened to the Cardinals when they replaced Matheny with Shildt.
  15. Meh. Much ado about nothing. Buxton is a contracted employee. The employer is acting under the terms of the contract signed by the employee. It's a business. Said employee may have some leverage in the situation if he provided solid production for the employer, but unfortunately the employee's production has been far below his co-workers.
  16. You're only down a run and playing the team you're trying to catch in the standings. And you bring in Belisle? Is there any way Molitor could have made a more obvious public announcement to the players and fans that he's now managing to lose? For the love of all things good and holy, why is Belisle still wearing a baseball uniform? He's soooooo finished.
  17. Amazing information! Thanks for posting this. Just reading your comparison of today's vs. historical strikeout numbers made me yearn to watch a baseball game of old and marvel at the balls put in play, the frequent excitement of fielding the ball, the bunting (not the decoration kind), the steal attempts, the sacrifice, the actual frequent contact of bat on ball. What a treat that would be to see.
  18. I agree. Trout and Harper are skilled players, but they're both boring. They remind me of Jimmy Johnson of NASCAR. Johnson won many NASCAR driver championships, but did nothing for the sport because he was just plain, boring and blah. We do indeed need more MLB players with unique and genuine personalities that capture people's attention, like Fidrych and Jackson. I'll have to say that young Mr. Rosario with the Twins is getting close. Rosario plays with a mixture of enthusiasm, recklessness and productivity that is captivating.
  19. I'm so over this team. Today was the final straw. Molitor's overuse of Pressley is simply criminal. So much wrong with this team that doesn't have to be. Such a waste.
  20. So maybe writing isn't your thing. You did mention Pizza Ranch though, so it wasn't a complete waste of time to read.
  21. I'd trade Sano for any reasonably good player at any position. Sano is a bust due to his head. When a person can't shut their pie hole and stop eating they have mental problems. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it doesn't lend itself to being an elite athlete, which is what MLB players need to be.
  22. Last year the team did well without Sano, and this year the team is again doing well without him. He does not seem to enhance team chemistry. He is a mess physically and mentally and the Twins would do well to part ways with Sano. So I guess that's a #3.
  23. Despite Berrios pitching superb with 11 K's, Mauer getting hit #2000 and Twins winning 3rd straight to lead division, the game headline on MLB.com will be something like, "Chicago's other team loses to team from upper Midwest." Twins will have to win three World Series in a row to get any attention from big market butt smoochers at mlb.com.
