  1. With you, but unless the guy warming him up or Mahle says something himself, they might not be able to see it until the radar gun shows them where he's at.
  2. KC has packed it in here in this getaway day game. This game SHOULD be un-loseable. Not having good at bats at all. Finish it out guys and let's wait to hear about Mahle.
  3. He's great. What a nice hitter he is. Hits for average and power. He has literally been the Twins best hitter for a month or better now.
  4. I would agree with you here on both. That said, do we think Gray would be the type of guy to get a one-year deal after this one is done? If so, having him at the bottom of our rotation might work if he can stay healthy until then. If he was looking for another 3 year or more deal though, yep see ya.
  5. Call it the organization then, that's fine and I would agree with you. Surely it seems this is the case. Gray isn't some stud, it is just the first time we have heard a player speak out about being pulled early. That was the point of the post.
  6. Obviously TK and his crew did a good job with making sure the Twins were fundamentally sound. I agree though, the game has turned into either strikeout or hit a HR. I don't think that is something that is inclusive to the Twins though. It is taught at every level in both baseball and softball. Maximize your connection/power with a HLP swing. Never mind the fact that this can lead to lots of K's. Contact hitting is a thing of the past and that ranges from MLB all the way down to 12u.
  7. Doesn't seem like Sonny is too happy with the way he has been handled this year. I like that Rocco sent him out for the 7th last night. Not sure what this means going forward but by listening to this interview, I would say enjoy Sonny Gray for this year and next because this sounds like a guy that doesn't really care for how he is being used and won't resign.
  8. And why wouldn't Verlander stay with the Astros? They are a top 2-3 team in baseball, they are stacked and have things figured out, it's a constant pipeline. They aren't going anywhere. 25 million for one year? How many more years is he going to pitch? And does he want to do it with someone else or the team that is primed to win a WS every year?
  9. I agree on all except the Rocco hard and fast rule. He is almost 100% committed to not letting his starters see the order a 3rd time. It has cost us games. I agree with the talent part but every one of these guys has some kind of talent and can get hot. A starter sitting at 5 shutout innings with 2 hits and about 65 pitches should at least get a shot to start the next one, I don't care if the guy has a track record or is a rookie, save your pen and give them a shot. Pagan should have been DFA'd long ago, but for certain after that HR in Anaheim. Here is the real killer though. He NEEDS to be gone just to save Rocco from himself. Otherwise, as long as he can go out 1 out of 3 times and have a clean inning or strike 1-2 batters out, Rocco will keep running him out there and he will keep losing us games.
  10. Hopefully someone teaches or is getting through to him on how to make better contact. Sounds like he is a big strong guy with loads of power.
  11. I want no part of any of them other than if Correa decides to come back. Or I guess if any of the rest of that bunch would be willing to accept the same type of deal. High AAV, but short terms years, then yes any of them.(won't happen) Huge, long term contracts to guys already in their 30s never work out. Stay away.
  12. Wallner strikes out at an amazing rate. He has a long way to go IMO to ever be anything more than a once in a while player. That is just my opinion, he could turn it around. Right now, he is Miguel Sano though. Tons of power, lots of K's and so so as a fielder.
  13. Correct. Don't care what he says, care about what he does. And I think someone else managing this team we would be up 2-3 games rather than behind that many. Do I want him fired? I don't think you can justify it to be honest if you look at his tenure. He has had one terrible season and 3 where we are at least competitive or better. But I would like to see him change his way of thinking with a pitching staff. The overuse of the bullpen is an issue that has cost us games this year and everyone knows it.
  14. This happens because pitchers have been busting him inside and he is late on the fastball. If he could see these out front and get that bat head out, he would be fine. Right now, he is just done for on anything at his hands. Couple that with the fact that against LHP he is abysmal, he's really struggling. If I were his hitting coach, I would tell him just to hunt the inside fastball and be early on it. Every team is hammering him into that spot right now. He has to adjust and hasn't.
  15. Yuck. Offense was bad all weekend. Manager just keeps doing his thing messing with pitchers and losing us close games. Id say they have to sweep KC or it’s going to be over. Cleveland is hot right now, maybe on fire. I honestly don’t know if it can happen anymore. I had lots of faith even before this series but it has now become even more obvious that this pitching staff just is really really bad and the offense is just missing too many guys. Even the new arms we got haven’t been saviors. They’ve been ok but they aren’t saviors. Couple that with a guy that insists using 4-6 pitcher every night and even if we stay close there is no way we can win a close race with him doing that
  16. Finally a solid start. Then we go to our rested bulls in the bullpen and it's over. This is the formula. Let's see if Rocco uses any of them tonight if we are in another close game. I would if I am him. Hopefully we can turn some of those hits into more runs and not worry about it and can use Megill and Pagan to suck up innings good or bad.
  17. Urshella has had big hits all year. And he has played a nice 3B. Has he had a prolonged hitting slump all year? How many errors? I can't remember many, but can remember some really nice plays. Also think he has been on the field alot, didn't check stats but I know I haven't heard of him out for any extended period or reports of him being banged up, etc. This guy is solid and exactly the type of dude teams need on their team. Hip hip hooray Gio.
  18. What would you like them to do at this point to go into the 2023 season? I think they did WELL trading for pieces that will be here for next year at the deadline. If you mean calling up prospects to have them get their feet wet. I am not at that point yet. We just played the best team in baseball. We still have a shot at the postseason and traded for proven MLB talent. Go for it. If nothing else, this is good for guys like Miranda, Gordon, and some of the young pitchers to be in this pressure cooker division race. At least it is interesting.
  19. Just. Can’t get a starter to give us more than a few innings a game. I guess that is what happens when you have a rotation full of 3-5’s. Still would like to see one of them step up for a change
  20. Same pitch 4 times in a row. Get that bat head out there meet it out front and hammer. Late on every one of them he was. He does not look comfortable at the plate right now
  21. On the ropes he’s been skating all game. Top here have to get 2 more. This guy is our Bundy/Archer
  22. Gray looking like our stopper. Don’t dick with him Rocco he’s going 6-7 tonight
  23. Time to stack don’t let this guy off the hook. He’s ripe for a big inning
  24. Bout time Polanco that was the spark they needed. This pitcher isn’t very good I’ll be disappointed if we don’t have 5 or better runs on him.
