  1. How about Gibson? I read somewhere that he might be available. If so, a potential reunion could be nice.
  2. He's neither hero nor villian. The word that comes to mind is "uninspiring."
  3. A few weeks ago on the other network, an ironic headline appeared: "Buxton Getting Back to His Old Self." Apparently he had a couple of hits that day, and the writer got a little excited and kind of let his emotions dictate the story. Well, he was right, he is back to his old self: teasing with potential and failing to deliver. That's Mr. Buxton. We're enthralled with his potential, but he rarely delivers. Why we signed him to a multi year multi million contract is beyond me. (Actually it's not; but I'll save those thoughts for a different place) Like with Mauer, I know our hands were forced by impending free agency. But unlike Mauer, Buxton has no track record to warrant a huge contract. When we signed Mauer, he was coming off an MVP season and backed that up with many years of solid to all-star caliber play. Track records matter. Maybe we can find another club dazzled by Buck's potential to dump him upon. IMHO, we should try to trade him.
  4. I like Festa much better than the over-hyped spin master, Mr. Enlow!
  5. Looks like Cavaco is finally starting to figure things out. Maybe's he not a bust. On the other hand there's Sabato.
  6. You can can the Front office for getting rid of our best bullpen arm on the first day of the season.
  7. The "greatest" player in the game today is 0 for his last 26 and is batting 202. Maybe t'werent a good idea to sign The Buck to so many bucks for so many years?
  8. So we've got a guy who's having Tommy John surgery for the second time out for this year and probably for a good chunk of next year. And we gave up our only proven closer who's having a career year, leading the league in saves with a minuscule .52 era in order to possibly realize the possibility that Paddack might possibly contribute something in 2024. And we're paying his full salary to boot. Even with Pagan thrown in, how could anyone put a positive spin on this?
  9. Just got sent down. Two earned runs in two starts, a no-decision and a win, why send him down? Bad move; bad message, bad management, and it leaves a bad taste.
  10. It'd be nice to see Kirilloff turn it on. And this Spencer Steer character, you can't corral the guy!
  11. I'm not buying it either. We could do much better than Rocco at the helm!
  12. Miranda is good, or seems good based on last year's AAA stats. But he's completely untested. I don't know much about Terry. If we still had Brent Rooker, I wonder if he could have filled in? Maybe a trade? Or maybe we can sign a castoff from the May 2nd roster contraction? How far along is Sabato?
  13. Us Falvey/Levine/Rocco detractors are still here. It's been a good week; don't get overly excited. With that said, I'd gladly eat crow for my complaints against the FO and our fearless manager if the Twins continue to win! Go Twins! Prove me wrong!
  14. Sure it's great to get a young guy with a lot of potential, but we lost our closer to do it. And since we only--realistically--have our new superstar shortstop for one year, dumping our only proven closer to "build for the future," makes no sense. Imho, Falvey and company made one move too many. They got too cute and lost their sense of time.
  15. I hope the Twins take one of the catchers.
  16. Ben was good,; but I was thinking about the little round one from Chicago.
  17. The last time we took a 5' 8" guy in the first round, things worked out pretty good.
  18. Rocco is Corn Ferry's guy. He'd do very well as the manager of a human resources department.
  19. As I recall, Landon Leach was a high draft pick.
  20. I'll gladly eat crow for this. Well done, Mr. Falvey!
  21. I like Robert Gsellman. He's a good reliever from a team that has a knack for finding pitchers. And like Hrbeck, he's vowel deficient.
  22. "Easily Cuttable," I like that phrase. I like the way it rolls off the tongue.
  23. The biggest mistake we made is in hiring Falvey and Levine. This led to the decision to use Korn Ferry to recruit a major league manager. The Twins get what they deserve.
