  1. It started with strike 3 to Correa...then it was strike 2 to Gallo (absolutely egregious). I have no problem with the ejections...and I have no problem with Sonny's response. If they FINISH this game, it's the kind of thing that can get the guys going. ...and Correa has a cannon.
  2. Eddie has three-true-outcome written all over him.
  3. Right? DP or caught steeling the only way. Very unusual.
  4. Average exit velo was 100mph for Texas in the top of the 2nd. I’ll accept the one run.
  5. To get rate divide Ks by PA…more accurate comparisons player to player.
  6. Wow. That's a very nice win. Great job by Winder (and Jax).
  7. In no realistic universe can you anticipate the pitch to Julien being called a strike. He hadn't expended the zone even close to where that pitch was.
  8. Wonderful Winder. Let's get him a W
  9. I actually agree with this. That was egregious...perfect time to get tossed.
  10. What's the record for solo home runs in a game? Let's break it.
  11. No. But he doesn’t have any 2-out GiDP, either. You have to take the good with the bad.
  12. Yep…they can hit. I don’t take the 6-game losing streak they’re bringing into the series as a good thing for the Twins.
  13. Yep…they’re up slightly, because of that…it has increased the success rate.
  14. And that’s why steeling bases has fallen out of favor in the era of low BA’s and lots of HRs.
  15. It’s likely the Twins would be okay if they win 1 or even 0. Not that it would FEEL okay…but that’s just the way it is this year.
  16. It’s an interesting sentiment, and not lost on me. Having said that…referring to the new schedule as ‘even’ or ‘balanced’ is misleading (and not accurate). Not reflecting on the author here, because it seems a common practice. Still play divisional opponents 14 times a year (down from 19). That’s still more than twice as much as other teams in the AL…and still over a third of the season dedicated to divisional rivals. I don’t think that will change much the degree to which we learn to love, hate, and respect their stars.
  17. Looks bad now, but at the time, I didn’t hate it. As I figured he’d be a great center fielder for 100 games a year and average to modestly above average hitter. (I too was apparently overly optimistic.) But, to your point, Buxton has really NEVER had a good season. The only thing that could be called a ‘season’ was 2017, and only his defense was good that season. His entire career is a string of small sample results…including small sample ‘seasons’…ricocheting between phenomenal and completely awful…great when fly balls are going over the fence, and really bad when they aren’t. Making him what he’s always been…a dangerous, but overall only slightly above average hitter. The K’s and very low OBP were there from day 1, and have always been there.
  18. 18-17 or better to finish isn’t out of the question. Probably be close.
  19. Kinda feel bad for Duran though…battled, but beat by a couple of ground balls and a misplay. Is a little concerning that he’s not getting many swings and misses with the fastball tho.
  20. Now…a couple line drive outs to infielders and a warning track fly ball, and we’re out of here.
  21. Lewis is going to need to learn to lay off pitches out of the zone. Just because you have the talent to put it into play…doesn’t mean you should.
  22. And the offense could score a bunch in the 10th to make it moot. Meanwhile, one run allowed and it’s over. Obviously not a great position to be in no matter how you slice it.
  23. That’s a Wallner specialty. That pitch was MAYBE 3 inches out of the zone 😄
  24. Nothing but fastballs and changeups to the first 3 guys…(3rd guy gets lucky)…then nothing but sweepers to the last, until he finally retires him with a FB. I’m so confused with Jax.
