    Paddack. Wow. Best outing of the year, by any Twin. Kinda out of nowhere, given the pitch efficiency and the opponent. All his starting colleagues are welcomed to one-up this performance.

    Strikeouts are not good either. The only reason Raya’s K/9 looks good, is because he faces so many batters per inning. His K% is below 20% now….a pretty large drop off from last year’s K rate.

    Just click-bate from Bowden. And lazy click-bate at that. Ryan won't be traded until the off-season prior to the 2027 season...or the '27 trade-deadline. For the most obvious reason. I could see him being traded earlier in a full-rebuild scenario with a new FO. But, no way this desperate administration with their 'compete in AL central' mentality is trading away Ryan this season.

    Baseball Reference has the entire active roster with above league average exit velocity with the exceptions of Castro, Bader, and Keirsey Jr. So, maybe results continue to improve a bit.

    Nice response in last two series to the Cleveland disappointment. Might get back to 500 way quicker than seemed possible even a week ago. Much work still to be done, though, as the schedule firms up. Does this series mean the Twins won the Jorge Lopez trade??

    I 1000% expect to hear more about the thumbs soon. The K’s and the low BA easily fit a ‘normal‘ development hiccup narrative as he moves up the ladder. But the complete disappearance of power…for him? 4 XBH in 125 AAA PA…54 balls in play total, not one hit over the fence. Sure seems something’s going on beyond normal developmental cycles.

    Yep. Buxton has been his best version of himself. Healthy, inconsistent at-bats, but excellent power/ISO, and running the bases aggressively. Correa, if remotely healthy, will ultimately be the least of the clubs worries.

    12-9 in last 21 games. 571, albeit against a pretty soft schedule. I think this is who they are. Will be interesting to see if they can come close to that pace over the next 21 which includes a firmer schedule.

    I have no problem giving him a shot. My expectations would be heavily tempered. As we’ve learned, International League offensive…especially power…numbers must be taken with a grain of salt. For instance, he’s K’ing way more at AAA than he did in AA…yet his HR rate is nearly double at AAA from what it was in AA. Initially, I think you’re likely to get the AAA K rate with the AA HR rate in the majors. Wouldn’t need to improve much to be better than some of the alternatives, though.

    98 pitches to get through 5 innings. I didn’t think he had his ‘A’ command whatsoever, but he continually made the pitch he needed deep in counts. Credit to him. But, if we gonna talk ‘stud’ and ‘domination’…let’s go for 7 innings and 1 run allowed on say, 105-110 pitches.

    If Lee and/or Keaschall are better fielders…fine. I THINK they can justify regular status with their bats. But his injuries should have NOTHING to do with where he lands in long term. We’ve been down this road with Buxton. Put Lewis where he provides the most value and optimizes the batting order. If everyone’s healthy, maybe that’s DH…but, the history suggests he’s MORE likely to get injured running the bases than playing the infield, so let’s not be ‘afraid’ to put him there.

    Cleveland acquires and develops positional players pretty differently than the Twins. The players that emerge in their system have generally had better defensive, contact, and baserunning skills…and less power. Pitching-wise, the Twins have been worlds behind Cleveland in development, although that seems, finally, to be trending in the Twins direction…maybe. I don’t think aspiring to be Cleveland is the answer, but it does seem they have done more things ‘well’ than the Twins over the past decade plus.

    I’m also guessing the guy with the curveball that put him into the hall of fame...Blyleven…probably had a few that may have broke even more. But no social media at the time to make it “credible”. I love me some Joe Ryan. Aggressive, aggressive, aggressive. Hopefully, he can find the formula to stay strong and healthy through the entire season.

    Rocco gets away…barely…with the biggest mistake he’s made all season. He should have made it rain hard for another six hours. Seemed like such an obvious move.

    Vazquez is on on-base machine with a cannon for an arm. How bad does Boston wish they had never let him go!

    Dasan Hill pulled after 1.1 innings having given up zero runs (and also not K'ing anyone). Why do I already know where this is going?

    I remember him as a player. He was bad at the major league level. One of a string of first-basemen that couldn’t hit that the Twins desperately tried after the decline and subsequent trade of Killebrew. He was also a bench coach under Billy Gardner and Ray Miller.

    Doesn’t seem like AA hitters have been as impressed with Prielipp as the Twins media shills were back in March watching him on the back fields. But for now, I’m still just glad he seems healthy. If that stays true, he’s got a shot. I’m hoping Raya can work through whatever is going on, and he can become at least an option as a reliever. It’s like Groundhog’s Day with him, every year is the same.

    But when healthy, the organization has treated him like fine china…until this year, which has been refreshing. Still, there’s the poor OBP…which features few walks and few singles.

    Sometimes you gotta feel a bit sorry for the lads. Bullpen did their job, a lot of good at-bats…but not enough came with RISP. Got the ground ball that you need in the 10th, and it finds the whole. It was a less hopeless, but more frustrating, way to not score enough. Well, at least the flight to Boston is a short one.

    He does, but I’m fine with his results so far this year. I don’t expect he can get a ton better, and I would just as soon he stays aggressive. Maybe not a good candidate to bring in with runners on…which I don’t think has been done much with him.
