  1. All Ryan needs to do today is be perfect. Go get ‘em, Joe!
  2. Sell expiring contracts. No significant buying, PLEASE…until we know who’s going to be running the org.
  3. Well, this is one way to catch up to your Pythagorean won-lost.
  4. Worse part? I’m not sure Bride can go tonight.
  5. Yes. Basically the same could be said for over-age journeymen pitching at AA. I Should have used the sarcasm font. 😉
  6. And we’ve got a couple of guys in the Florida Complex League that have been LIGHTS-OUT!
  7. Giving up the 2-point conversion after the opponent hangs 6 on us is becoming a disturbing trend.
  8. Look! Twins once again setting the pace for Major League Baseball!! We’re undoubtedly the envy of every fan base.
  9. Everything!?? I’m guessing all your kids have November or early December birthdays?
  10. Bride is one of the weakest hitting pitchers that I can recall.
  11. It’s like buying a thousand shares of a $1-dollar stock hoping it might double or triple, but it just sits at $1.05. Almost nothing ventured, (next to) nothing gained. But, yes…it’s better than buying a $10 stock and having it settle at 1.05.
  12. Twins have already gotten 1 bWAR from him this season. That’s 2 more than I anticipated.
  13. 5 innings and 70+ pitches!! Finally had good results with balls-in-play. Ironically, only struck out 3 of 20 batters faced, much fewer than he had been recently…even in the really bad starts. Baseball.
  14. No. I think we should keep trotting Alcala out there, and let Raya continue to fail as a 3-inning starter in the minors indefinitely.
  15. With Rodriguez, you can make a case that his performance warrants a drop, not just the injuries.
  16. I think you’re giving Buxton too much credit for one PA. IMO, when he hits a ball to the right side it’s purely by accident…and yesterday’s hit was way more likely to simply have been a case of him being a smidgen late. Having said that, he’s having the best offensive season of his career….on the heels of what was probably his best offensive season to date last season. The hot streaks maybe haven’t been quite as other-worldly like some in the past, but the slumps are not nearly as long/deep. And now the aggressiveness on the bases is back, as well.
  17. Interesting. Fwiw, I’m happy with just about anyone getting these at-bats besides Mike Ford. Nothing against him, I wish him luck.
  18. It’s not a bad idea given what’s behind him. But it’s the exact type of bold move I don’t think this admin has in them. Paddock has become too important to their perennial plan of “making the playoffs” without regard to having any real chance of making a run.
  19. Nice to see Correa showing signs of being Correa. That’s huge for the club.
  20. It’s astounding to me that a cast-off can immediately play with the confidence that he has shown from day one. Maybe dad instilled a “never doubt yourself” attitude? Don’t know how sustainable the hitting results are, but he’s also shown a surprising ability to do positive things in the field and on the bases. Good for him!
  21. I’m afraid that if the BB rate declines and the K rate increases (and it’s pretty darn bad now)…even moderately, which is common when entering the majors…he quickly becomes unplayable. Both the approach and health seem like a house of cards. I’d be happy to be wrong. Yes, we’ll see.
  22. Diaw: .it’s 100% about whether he’ll be a legit mlb-level catcher from a defensive standpoint. Hill is just so far away still it’s tough to make the top 100 quite yet. I’d have ERod close to dropping out of the top 100.
  23. Not as important as a playoff win, but probably the “best” win in several years. Up there with some of the classics through the years. And a turning point for Matthew’s, as well?
