  1. WHY IS THIS DIFFICULT? Give Joe his money, convince him the team has turned a corner and is now serious about winning, negotiate a proper extension and get busy with the roster! What's so hard about that agenda?
  2. These grifting silver spoon Pohlads are the absolute worst--they have no business acumen, they inherited a gem of a franchise they can neither manage nor afford. Memo to the Pohlads: GET OUT NOW.
  3. Everyone is upset because the grifting silver spoon Pohlads have not sold the team and left town.
  4. The Twins path to sustained success is blocked by the grifting silver spoon Pohlad ownership. Nothing will change until they sell and completely remove themselves from team activities.
  5. Is there any reporting about the terms of his deal? In particular, how many years he got? Because this hiring doesn't warrant a "grade," rather it gets a label: place holder. I'm guessing he got two years and will be gone as soon as the grifting silver spoon Pohlads sell the franchise and the new owners blow out the incompetent Falvey.
  6. Nothing will change until the grifting silver spoon Pohlads sell the team and leave baseball completely. With the Shelton hire they've announced next season is a scorched earth fight for the bottom with the White Sox. Shelton is a place holder and Falvey is a tiresome bureaucrat.
  7. Any manager who agrees to work for current ownership has no aspiration to win the World Series. This hiring confirms Pohlad's intention to go completely scorched earth in 2026, hope for a salary cap or something like it as a result of next winter's negotiations for a new Basic Agreement, and enjoy the resulting uptick in the franchise's valuation and squeeze the last possible dollar out of a sale. Joe Pohlad is a silver spoon grifter and we will suffer for it.
  8. Toronto may think they've got it good right now, but the Twins payroll has been "right sized"!!
  9. Get real. The only way the Twins even dream about contending is when the miserable Pohlads sell the team. Memo to the Pohlads: PLEASE GET OUT NOW.
  10. A #3 at best?! Thankfully you're not making talent evaluations for the Twins....
  11. Heaven forbid the Twins should be involved in the Devers trade talks....he's exactly what the team needs in a number of different ways, but the curse of the Pohlads prevents us from behaving like a Major League Team.
  12. Alcala has got to go. Throw him into a bigger trade for a meaningful, middle of the order bat. He's got a live arm, the Twins have tried hard--let someone else try and figure him out. Frankly, Twins fans are sick of him.
  13. Is it a slow news day to the point you have to post a nonsense piece like this? Better a profile of the assistant equipment manager than a rubbish suggestion that Joe Ryan be traded. Good grief....
  14. Please! Just say NO to A-Rod and anything he's part of! He could not care less about the Twins and baseball in Minnesota, there are many good reasons he was suspended from the game for a full year!
  15. Thank you Matthew for your spot on appraisal of the clueless Pohlads and their utter failure to build on last year's success.  Please continue your discussion of their perfidy--if the Pohlads can't afford to pursue a World Series, they should sell and get out.

  16. Baldelli's pathetic response to criticism for pulling Ober is a telling sign--he has exhausted his potential as manager of the Twins, he can't take the heat. The first off season priority is replacing him.
  17. Back in the day I thought Prince's "U Got the Look" was a bold choice...
  18. AZ Dane gets it right below, the Pohlads pleading poverty is a tired bit of business. Invest in the darn team NOW when the upside is visible.
  19. Now if only we could find an effective hitting coach....
  20. If the "landscape changed in the final week" before the deadline, a front office with vision would have anticipated the possibility and traded for much needed bullpen/RH hitter help earlier, out in front of that change. If Cleveland was a seller, all the more reason to beef up for the stretch run and to give the Twins an even slightly better shot in the post season. And if the roster wasn't worth investing in, then Falvey/Levine are failures for 2023 by definition and should be blown out at season's end. The failure to improve the team at the deadline is abysmal, a betrayal of Twins fans.
  21. Adding smart executive talent in the front office that can do better at evaluating pitching talent in the draft would be an enormous help. The Twins seem unwilling and incapable of drafting high end pitching talent.
  22. So $11M for one year of Gallo makes sense, but two year deals at a total of $15M for established bullpen pitchers are beyond reach? What am I missing?
  23. Not even the executioner currently employed as third base coach?? He's gotta go!
