  1. The Rays are really something else.
  2. Not a problem right now. It was kinda murky... yesterday? the day before? but seems fine today.
  3. I expected Boof to have a solid career. He obviously did not do that.
  4. The Yankees are a very good team but they no longer feel intimidating. This will be an interesting series, particularly with the lefty going for New York in game one.
  5. Kepler is left-handed and probably could use a day off. Margot is right-handed and is on the roster to play against lefties.
  6. Funny that you mention this, as it's exactly what we're planning. Some time this season, we're redesigning the entire front page. The articles will be "tiered", with longer-lasting pieces near the top and moving downward from there. The new front page will also include all the crap I've added to the site over the past four years like the guides and resources, players project, prospect pages, etc.
  7. Huh. The Blue Jays are currently in last place.
  8. A chance to win a four-game set against the Ms with Pablo on the mound. But damn, this Seattle rotation is really something else.
  9. The bullpen finally showed some cracks last night. And by cracks, I mean the dam broke.
  10. First, the pitcher win stat is stupid and should be ignored. Second, if MLB wants to make the pitcher win stat slightly less stupid, they should allow the scorer to grant the win to whichever pitcher they feel deserves it after the game is complete.
  11. On forums like this, I think people tend to blur individuals into an aggregate. Yes, there are specific individuals who say negative things sometimes and some individuals say negative things all the time... but very few of the latter exist around here anymore. We've worked to drive some of the perpetual downers away or change their behavior because being around a person like that is just deeply unpleasant. But I say negative things about the team. Most good posters I see say negative things about the team. None of us agree on everything. Chief and I say negative things but we also disagree all the time. Yes, there is some negativity in most topics; that's a byproduct of people disagreeing on things. It's rarely one person saying all the negative things, it's usually a conglomeration of some people agreeing on one thing and disagreeing on another.
  12. Welcome back, Jorge! Tonight's game is gonna be a tough one... Castillo up against Woods Richardson.
  13. It needs to be at least loosely connected to the team in question. Like if the Brewers need a starter and it’s rumored the Marlins are shopping a starter, that’s a rumor worth posting. But if some random team is shopping a shortstop, that’s not something you post here on TD. The Twins are definitely not looking for a shortstop. Some general knowledge of various teams and judgment calls are required.
  14. We're looking for a couple of people to help us out with the rumors section. I didn't expect to request this for a few more weeks but given the Marlins' recent behavior, I should probably get moving on this. This would be for the Cubs, Brewers, and Twins sites. It's a paid role based on number of posts. Basically, all we need is for people to keep an eye on Twitter and places like MLBTR and scour for rumors about baseball. Here is an example. When you spot a rumor, it's 5-10 minutes of writing and you're on your way.
  15. I lived there for a decade and still have a bunch of friends there and visit regularly. It's still a great place. Bloody expensive, but great.
  16. Yeah, San Diego is a notoriously awful place.
  17. Man, I want to watch the Twins try to increase the streak but also, the Cubs and Brewers are playing at the same time. I'll probably end up flipping back and forth a lot.
  18. To be clear, I'm listening to all the site suggestions and making mental notes of them, I'm just not super-involved in the TD front page. That's mostly the arena of the other four owners, my role is different. I keep an eye on the community and plan and execute new features, like The Players Project.
  19. Honestly, no they do not have one of the best front offices. The Twins front office is above average but no better than that. They're good at their jobs but not one of the best.
  20. Paddack looking damned good for a guy we thought might be injured in our internal slack channel.
  21. The need for more detailed editing and working with writers is largely why we hired our first full-timer, Matt Trueblood. He's been working with the younger writers quite a bit and hopefully, article quality has improved as a result. Matt does a killer job.
  22. One of Stu's best pieces in awhile because it's so ****ing accurate.
  23. There is little danger of that happening, as our relationship with the team is quite volatile. Some of the owners have a decent relationship with them, others have little interest in having a relationship with them.
