Okay, I'm in. Time for Gordon to make his debut. The Twins need another hitter to extend the lineup. Gordon has almost 700 AA plate appearances. He isn't just hitting singles - he's a SS with a .927 OPS. If he can play defense at all, bring him up. Molitor can always pull him for Adrianze late in the game. 

The Twins really miss Polanco and it's his own damn fault. Let's not wait until he gets back to get some juice at the position.

Nobody talks much about this as the reason for Gordon being in AA, but he was absolutely horrible defensively in spring training, and I think the Twins are sort of tying his promotions to his defensive play. Of course, at some point with even no improvement, he'd move to AAA, but my opinion is that while he's still early enough for AA to not be a total slap in the face, the Twins will give him incentive to tighten up his play in the field.

Wade on base 4 times and another good game from Gordon.

We will see several teams start moving guys up as extended spring training ends and some of those players fill low A pushing other guys up through the system. The June draft will also fill the system with a few players that need a spot in A ball. I expect both to move in the first half of June.

I am a believer that good players continue to improve in MLB - Polanco did - so why not Gordon. There seems to be stubborn pills that are being consumed in the FO.

Part of it is probably that Gordon is not on the 40 man roster. They already have to clear 2 spots when May and Santana come back, and will likely need to clear another spot or two at the trade deadline.

Of course, if they think he's ready, that shouldn't be an obstacle. But if they have doubts, as I do, then that might play into it.

Berrios, Odorizzi, Gibson, Romero and May not necessarily in that order. Then you've got Mejia and Gonsalves. This is your Minnesota Twins starting pitching depth for '19. This is such a change I like it allot. I predict May as a valuable starter moving forward.

Every one keeps forgetting about Pineda.  Expect the Twins have high expectations for him in 2019.  Personally, I think we have seen the last of Mejia as a regular starter for the Twins.  To many better arms ahead of him.

Just checked Lamont Wade's stats.  He has 11 strikeouts in 111 at bats with 19 walks.  Result is a .402 OBP.  Also saw that Lewis has almost as many stolen bases (10 in 11 attempts) as strikeouts (11) in just under 100 at bats.  Maybe those two guys will cut into the number of K's the Twins take in a few years. 

Although I don't have a clue where Wade can play other than a 4th outfielder spot as I expect/hope that the Twins outfield of Rosario, Buxton and Kepler is around for a decade or longer.  But he could be an upgrade to the 4th outfielder spot, both at the plate and in the field.

Not pretending to know for sure that Gordon would stick (but I do think he is a tenacious competitor).....just think that given his performance and the Twins need for a better bat at the position warrant a shot  (Also like the idea of Wade as 4th OF....just hate the inflexibility of having Grossman on the roster)

Seth can probably chime in on whether my perception seems accurate. In tracking back on a few players who have moved up in season, there appears to be a migration upwards coinciding with the A ball all star games.

The MWL and FSL host their all star games on the June 15-17 weekend. I would expect that some of the better performing high end prospects will be moved up around that time frame this year. It also coincides with EST ending and draft signings filling some slots in A-Ball.

Good reminder. I've forgotten about Pineda's impending return too. And you may be right about Meija too. Barring injuries, too many good arms ahead of him.

Just guessing here, but could it be, they are worried he takes off in AAA and they have to remove somebody off the 40 and if he gets hurt they are short outfielder?

Really like Wade...big fan of guys with his kind of approach and command of an at bat.  Those kind of guys usually outperform whatever their "tools" are.   He's gonna get on base a lot, not chase and get himself out, and generally swing at pitches and be in counts that put him in favorable positions.  If he's got anything more in his bat than Grossman and can field his position even at an average level there's a solid amount of value to that player.

With Kepler, Buxton, Rosario I'm not sure exactly where he fits in the lineup, but he's a guy I wouldn't be surprised to see carve out a better than expected career.
