Roaddog Verified Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I saw this trade on Twitter and wanted thoughts. We trade Buxton snd Deduno for Niese and Synoground. Would you consider this? I dont like it. Buxton is worth more than that, and to me he's someone you build around.
RedBull34 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Do you mean Noah Syndergaard? Also no, you don't trade away pieces that are part of your plans, you trade extra pieces you have to fill holes. By that logic, Buxton, Sano and Meyer are untradeable.
CGNikolic Provisional Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Absolutely not. I agree, Buxton, Sano and Meyer should be part of the future, not traded to help it. Trading them would just further delay our chances to ever be successful again.
clutterheart Verified Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Syndergaard is a great prospect and could be ready next year. Niese is an interesting pitcher and signed long term. So if the plan is to win in 2014 & 2015 than Ryan should do the deal. But then he needs to plop down another 50 Million or so in the offseason to buy more pitchers, someone to play 1B and someone to play 3B. - unless he thinks Sano is ready. Bu Ryan appears to be playing out the string and I don't think Sano is ready so I don't see it happening.
shs_59 Provisional Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 There are many out there that would contend the Blue Jays screwed up BIG TIME (they traded Noah Syndergaard and Travis d' Arnaud to the Mets for R.A. Dicky.... Syndergaard many view, as the #1 or #3 pitching prospect in all of baseball. Obviously Buxton is the #1 or #2 prospect in ALL of baseball. so Buxton for Syndergaard and Niese and maybe 1 more player, even if a C+ type I would STRONGLY consider if I was any member of the Twins front office. But a trade like that, just hardly ever Happens..... Teams don't trade top prospect for top prospect generally. It'd almost HAVE to be an off-season trade and LET ME SAY THIS when was the last time TR made an off-season trade? exactly. Buxton is too good to move though, i'd be more comfortable trying to move Rosario and saaay A.B. Walker for a stud pitching prospect.....probably not Syndergaard but maybe a different Met.......like Rafael Montero. Or the Royals' Yordano Ventura I REALLY like the Reds' Robert Stephenson.
wagwan Verified Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Didn't Ryan trade both Span and Revere LAST off season?
