Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Twins: SP Kyle Gibson Mariners: SP Erasmo Ramirez Things to think about: 1. Think about Sam Deduno... His ERA is now down to 3.18. At some point... you have to consider him as a legit stopper. Of course that doesn't do us much good today but I think it's worth thinking about. 2. Think about Kyle Gibson... He's still trying to recover from a real bad start against the Yankees. He's been OK apart from that real bad start. His ERA will remain some inflated until he can get some more decently thrown innings under his belt. Hopefully he can continue to chip away at that inflated 5.72 ERA this afternoon. 3. Think about the Twins Offense... Still not impressing us very much. There is no one on the current roster that you can consider hot. This puts a lot of pressure on the Pitching and Defense. 4. Think about the Pitching and Defense... It's been pretty dang good lately. 5. Think about Architecture... I work in a building that has already been built... Yet it is still called a building... Like it's not done yet.

big dog Verified Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Possible 2013 MN Twins MVP??? Now that you mention it, who else is there? Nothing against Mauer, who probably deserves it the most, but SamWell could lead the team in wins, era, whip, and BA against. What do you suppose the Vegas line would have been for that back in December? Perkins would have a claim, too, but I'll take a very good starter over a great closer.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2013 Author Posted July 28, 2013 Mauer had Twins while a member of the Twins. The Synergy alone makes him a lock for MVP.
big dog Verified Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 So Maddie's the MVP of the twins, but Deduno is the MVP of the Twins.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I agree that if the season ended now the team MVP is definitely Joe Mauer. Sam and Glen are certainly the #2 & #3's - either one is a good pick for runner up. It seems like it has been a long, long time since I was excited to watch a Twins Starting pitcher pitch. I am breathing it in, enjoying it, and not taking it for granted. Deduno is a piece of the puzzle of this teams future.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Deduno is a piece of the puzzle of this teams future.I'd like to see him go through the league a couple more times (he's only faced three teams twice this year) before I make that call. But I've got hope.

Gibby Provisional Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Wow! The Wife has a meeting on a Sunday, so I get to cook late and watch the game.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I love it when they put a guy on camera right when he's adjusting his package.

CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 That should be a homerun. Edit: or not
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I love it when they put a guy on camera right when he's adjusting his package. They would always do that when Jim Thome batted. *cringes*
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Pretty hard to tell from that angle but it didn't look like it hit anything past the yellow line.
CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Well, that's one way to do it.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Good Gawd, I could have hit that one out.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I guess Colabello colaberred that one.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Who knows how long my reverse jinx lasts. A weekend at least.
big dog Verified Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Friday night's Reverse Jinx against Colabello will go down as one of the top 3 reverse jinxes in all of history. I believe he's 4-5 with 2 HRs since then.

big dog Verified Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Chief, please discuss how I have zero chance to ever win a lottery and I might as well quit trying.
big dog Verified Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Whats for supper? The correct phrase is "Hey Grampaw, what's for supper?" The number to call is BR-549.
CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Word from LaVelle E. Neal III is that Rich Harden has been released. Too bad. I was hoping he could contribute.
