Lee gets dropped in the order after one bad game. Hopefully Clemens builds off this, because he has not been a positive contributor on offense for the last month. Definitely one of those things where stats only say so much - in the last month he’s had 5 homeruns, including the crazy game winning Grand Slam that I still can’t believe I had the pleasure of seeing. Yet Clemens is batting 4th even in the middle of a massive slump. Hopefully he is breaking out, but I want it in more than one game.

He has at least improved the defense in CF. But yes he needs to pick up the pace on offense. If he was a competitor he wouldn't be spending half his time on the IR...

Patzky Old-Timey Member Posted August 16 Posted August 16 I'd talk to him first but slide Buck to maybe sixth in the batting lineup. It's just not working right now.

But this is why this team is a sub .500 and remain one. Clemens is not a cornerstone player they are treating him. He will have a couple of good months same as last year and when he slumps, he slumps badly. He needs to play three to four days a week that is where he will be most successful in helping a team win.
