The three doubles today were sweet reward for the numerous hard ground ball outs. I could be way off on this but it does seem like Kreidler is swinging and missing less than previously. There is a no brain positive to his defense at shortstop. Ryan is steady and plays smart, whether that is backing up players or stopping balls that are sure singles from becoming scoring base hits. Kreidler is not a gold glove shortstop but he is so much better than the other options that the pitchers are paying for every dinner for him.

Kreidler is the ideal super utility player. He can fill in anywhere on defense. Hopefully the bat remains reasonably well

And even when the bat is cold, he’s got so many pluses going for his glove that it makes sense to keep him there till we get someone who can consistently do both. I will never get tired of seeing his diving catches.
