Just opinion but it's why baseball sucks, yet awesome.  A game built on negativity.  I don't have numbers but aren't the Twins near the top in BA with RISP?  But as fans we see the outs more often than not.

on the broader point, I'm really curious what MW would bring back in a trade.  I think he's worth a gamble

I guess when Buxton is back I feel better about a lot of things, even though he strikes out fairly often with RISP. Perception.. so fickle..

Matthews has started 12 games and 6 of them he has given up two or less runs while going for at least 6 innings. He has had three blow ups which he needs to improve.  But for a #4 pitcher which is what he is currently, those are pretty good numbers and he is averaging just under 6 innings per start.  Do you want Sim back instead, I will take Matthews over that all day.  He has 37 career starts, I still think that he can continue to improve and show that July is a blip.

This.  Sim was TERRIBLE. Even the Jays dumped him.

Serious about competing? Can the offense, with Buxton back, continue to score enough to win games?

Roden & CJ Culpepper (whatever combination necessary) for A.J. Minter of the Mets. He’s a Free Agent at year end but will be sought after in 10 days or so! This would bump Funderburk and Rogers to 6th and 7th inning appearances. A solid replacement for Banda’s role! (.950 WHIP & 1.80 ERA)

Minter - Sands - Paredes - Funderburk or Rojas - Rogers - Morris - Gomez - Nance or Go? ….., Raya is a maybe when rosters expand?

Get arms. Even Wallner for a flyer makes sense.

Trade Wallner for whatever - absolutely!

Trade all veterans that can play and don’t make the minimum, so “we can see” if young guys can play - I do not understand.

If Rodriguez stayed healthy and performed for a consistent stretch, he’d be on the Big Club …… If Jenkins was tearing up AAA pitching he’d be on the Big Club ……. if Gonzalez was hitting anywhere near what he did last year, he’d be on the Big Club. None of them are doing that and that’s how one gets promoted.

Fedko didn’t get called up because he was part of some trade or because he was a high draft pick …….. he was hitting so well they had to give him a shot. Roden, same as Fedko. Roden was throw in last year on the Varland for Rojas trade. Roden is nothing special….. he’s a 2026 version of Steve Brye……he’s OK but more than likely, nothing will come of him.

IF, and I don’t profess to have a crystal ball, the Labor/Ownership negotiations go as many think, there will be a “spending floor” for each Team. With a handful of Veterans left on the Roster, who is the Team going to pay to get to the floor? Will they pay 1st & 2nd year guys $6M a piece? ……. I saw one proposed level was at $175M. A floor may not come to fruition or the number may be $125M - who knows? I’m just tired of fans at TD, after being disappointed in ownership lack of spending in off-season, acting like having guys on the roster that make $4M - $10M are some anvil around the Team’s neck. I don’t get it at all.

Who said trade ALL veterans? Anyone? Heck, some here are saying trade Lee and Lewis....part of the present and future.

As far as dealing Jeffers Ryan, this team is NOT a playoff winning team. Build for '28 and beyond is the only realistic way to win a championship.

Good points...just feeling desperate for a meaningful trade.
