The consensus of the Angels fans around me last night was that Hicks would have had a shot if he had slid instead of just slowing down and getting tagged. We were far away, but our angle was good, and it seemed to me that if he had come in a full speed and slid, he might have been able to duck under the tag.

I have rarely had a problem. Usually I make friends with the fans on both sides of me and we talk baseball during the game. Last night I ended up hugging the woman to our left, shaking hands with the man to our right, and consoling both of them for the Angels' loss. I have had some comments in the past, but nothing like Fenway.
