CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I got to speak briefly with Morneau last night while helping him sign autographs. I told him that I hoped that the Twins would re-sign him and he said "me too." I think he meant it. Watching him play first base, it was clear to me that he was very focused.Wait, what?

Did he address you as GLORM?
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 That's what I'd like to call a triple play.
CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Bremer picking up the slack for the vacationing Bert. Forgot that the Twins don't play in the dome anymore.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Got to get a better swing off a lefty on 2-0 that that, Collabello.
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Wait, what? I will clarify. The row where I was sitting juts out into the field next to the Twins dugout. There is only one entrance and the 80 year old woman in charge was not letting anyone in who did not have a ticket. Kids were trying to reach over to hand stuff to Morneau to sign, but only the really tall people could reach. So kids were giving stuff to the 80 year old woman and she was taking them to Morneau one at a time along with each kid's sharpie. This was not efficient. So I got up and collected items from 5 or 6 kids at a time, lined them up to make them easy for Morneau to sign and opened a sharpie that he could use for every item. This was much more efficient than relying on the 80 year old woman and opening and closing each person's sharpie. We got about 40 to 50 items signed in a short time.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 Glunn' date=' I never took you to be a signature forger. You are getting more interesting by the day.[/quote'] Oh Sure... Here's a photo of Glunn pointing out one of his forgeries.
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 The Twins offense seems unable to capitalize on opportunities tonight, but Gibson and the defense seem to be doing a great job.
snepp Verified Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 The Twins are gunna win this game. "I'm just tellin' ya."

B Richard Provisional Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I want to see gibson go low and away with that slider more than he has ahead in the count
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 A Forger and a Saint... Priceless. We could have got more done if I had signed some of them, but I cannot write in Canadian.

I saw a story about this in the LA papers. Very heartwarming, real human interest type stuff. You forgot the part about charging the kids $10 each.

Willihammer Provisional Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Way out in front. Pull the string on him Gibsie
CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 We could have got more done if I had signed some of them, but I cannot write in Canadian. It's easy. You just have to add more "ehs."
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 We could have got more done if I had signed some of them, but I cannot write in Canadian. Actually that would have been funny. The Kids hand you the ball... You sign it... Hand it back and say "That'll have to do... Justin is Busy... Next!!!
snepp Verified Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 "I'm just gunna tell ya..." Gibson is going to get a double play.

Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 We could have got more done if I had signed some of them, but I cannot write in Canadian.I was going to say: "It is too bad you didn't study the Canadian Version of Rosetta Stone." Then I realized you can't sign a baseball by speaking to it.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Sounds like a lot of extra labour to me.True. But Glorm is the type of guy who'd be honoured to help.

glunn Community Moderator Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Anyway, Morneau was the only Twins player who came over to give autographs. Carroll was standing nearby, but no one asked him to sign anything. Morneau spend a good 8 to 10 minutes signing stuff, and the kids (and a few adults) were appropriately grateful.
