Let's think about Arcia on the bench. He needs to sit after 11 K's in the past 3 games and failing to break a bat over his knee in frustration. 2. Let's think about this Yankees lineup. If the Yankees lineup was ours. We'd complain about it. 3. Let's think about Sam Deduno... OK... Just a quick thought about Sam... Now move on to #4 4. Let's think about Phil Hughes... The Yankees are trying to trade him. We can help them get less for him. 5. Let's think about the well fed children of the world... The Starving Children are the ones always talked about and rightly so... But for one day out of 365... Let's think about the well fed children so they know they matter. July 13th is as good a day as any.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 phew ... thought I was alone in my masochism
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 guess we are going to help the Yankees reap rewards on a trade of Hughes
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I don't know what is worse - watching the Twins play the Damn Yankees or listening to the Band Damn Yankees?
GCTF Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I don't know what is worse - watching the Twins play the Damn Yankees or listening to the Band Damn Yankees? Sticking a sharpened pencil in your ear > listening to the band Damn Yankees.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 I don't know what is worse - watching the Twins play the Damn Yankees or listening to the Band Damn Yankees? I met Ted Nugent... He's a good guy... I don't agree with him... But he's a good guy.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I met Ted Nugent... He's a good guy... I don't agree with him... But he's a good guy. He's a nut job, imho
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Plouffe, a homer. No shutout today. If I'm happy for these little things, am I guilty of being happy for the ribbon just for participating?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 PLOUFFEThat's a $1,000 fine. We need to curb the over swinging.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 He's a nut job, imho Yeah he is... But... the Guy walks into a room and treats you like you are a human being. The rest... is just Ted being Ted.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Good Lord ... sigh! Bruno's going to lack job security if the Twins keep K-ing like this.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 Hughes Strikes out the side. This is getting really strange.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 Good Lord ... sigh! Bruno's going to lack job security if the Twins keep K-ing like this. The All Star Break... Needs to happen... Right now... By Right Now... I mean Saturday July 13... 12:33 Central Time.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I've seen Phil Hughes' name mentioned as an acquisition target, in another thread. I hope the Twins front office realizes that if they trade for him, he won't be able to put up as good strikeout numbers, because he won't be periodically facing the Twins.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Oh <bleep!> ... another <bleeping> race in my neighborhood tomorrow, which means major <bleeping> PITA. Rock 'n Roll Marathon (1/2 marathon) ... all these races ... so fun to run through my neighborhood ... they close all the streets and is a real pain getting around.
MichiganTwins Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 who is going to get sent down when Theilbar returns?
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 He's a nut job, imho Most nut jobs are good guys, in small doses, until you cross them somehow. IMHO.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Most nut jobs are good guys, in small doses, until you cross them somehow. IMHO.I just steer clear.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 Most nut jobs are good guys, in small doses, until you cross them somehow. IMHO. I asked Uncle Ted... Why there isn't any Ted Nugent, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen type Guitar superstars today? He gave a 10 minute answer that could be summed up as "It's Obama's Fault"
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I actually thought the Twins were going to take 2 of 3 in Yankee stadium this weekend. Because baseball is strange like that. Could still happen. But the strikeouts arent a great sign.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 OK... Leadoff double... And Justin hits a shallow ball. Justin is a vet!!!
MichiganTwins Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Mauer is not good at scoring when he is in scoring position.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 who is going to get sent down when Theilbar returns?Great question. Right now, I think it might be Tonkin, but if the bully gets abused again today, they might send someone else down. I would like to see the bullpen cut by one, but no one really jumps out as a demotion candidate. I also think that an injury, any injury, could put someone on the DL so that Tonkin could get a longer look.
