Gardenhire Thousand Wins?

This isn't meant to bash Gardy so please don't violate policy in your responses.

 

Serious Question... Will Gardenhire reach 1,000 Wins with the Twins.

 

I think he will but he has to do it this year(in my opinion) because if he doesn't he will be replaced for next year... of course in my opinion.

 

He needs 32 more wins to reach 68 this year and 1,000 for his career. 67 Wins will leave him short and probably short a job in 2014.

 

32 Wins should be easy enough but... This team could get younger at the trade deadline and with youth comes youthful mistakes.

He should at this point. If we don't win over 70 games I don't think he'll have a job next year.

1st half of July shapes up as a disaster

 

Then there's a West Coast road trip. While the Twins have played pretty well against the Angels and Mariners, that was early in the year ... and the road is not a good thing for the Twins.

 

The Twins will be fortunate to win 7 or 8 games in July.

 

August should be a little better (including 3 games against the Astros) but the days of beating up on everyone else in the division are gone. But they did come close to .500 against the division last year. So maybe they could get 15 wins in August (about 12 against the division and 3 more against the Astros, Rangers, Mets).

 

So that would leave 9 or 10 wins to get in September. And it is a tough haul....another 3 against the Astros (a good thing) plus a lot of games against Oakland plus Toronto, Detroit, Cleveland and the White Sox.

 

I think it may be tough going to get those 32 wins.

if he doesnt, he should be fired as they would have 95 losses. If he does get it, it'll be a nice send off to him & his 12 yrs....he shouldnt be back in any situation that doesnt include making the playoffs.

Forget the Yankee series. The Twins will finish close to .500 and Gardy will get his wins.

I'm certainly rooting for him to get his 1000th. I also don't think he will be back next year.

This road trip could be a disaster as after the sweep by NY, every east team will feel they have to sweep the Twins to keep up. And they all know the Yankees have 3 more games with them the end of next week.

Also doubt Gardy will be back. 1000 wins will be a nice sendoff. Too bad many of the Twins seem to have tuned him out. It happens.
