Did you miss this entire paragraph?

not at all.  NOWHERE in the article did you mention WHICH positions he could play.

It's pretty well known he had tommy John surgery in August, and mentioned in the article, and usually when you have that surgery your arm is injured prior, which limits your ability to throw.  Hence the teams he was on not being able to fully utilize him.

Not sure how many times I'm going to have to say this.  The article mentioned playing multiple positions but NO mention of WHICH positions.  Second Base? Shortstop? Quarterback? Left Field?  Left Wing?

Thanks. You mentioned defensive versatility several times, but what are the positions where people think he's most likely to contribute?

Thank you.  Thought I was going to be the only one wondering this.

Keaschall will probably have an opportunity to play 1B or anywhere else we need him this year if his bat plays in AA and AAA.
Anyone worried about the TJ surgery paid no attention to what Otani did in ‘24.  Yes, he played DH but he also threw a baseball around. He just didn’t pitch.

It would be awesome to have an athletic 1B that is also leadoff and steals bases. Baseball is changing to where you need guys on base, swipe some runs and outscore the other team 7-4.  Its also a reason to have a lockdown bullpen so the opponents offense is effectively done after 6 nnings.

Maybe a better version of Jose Miranda as Keaschall's projectable ceiling at this point?

He's a faster runner than Miranda.

I mentioned this last year in the comments on an article about Keaschall. I saw him quite a bit at ASU and I thought one of his bigger traits was his work ethics and he is one of my favorite prospects. He's a "natural" 2B/CF, but obviously until he proves the elbow isn't an issue, he's stuck at 1B. Defensively I wouldn't have any concerns with him at 1B, but he's more valuable as a 2B/3B/OF. The bat probably doesn't profile at 1B, but we did play Arraez there. Pedroia is a pretty decent comp, but IMO he's a smaller Ben Zobrist (TB version).

Sadly for me, I think he may be more valuable as a trade chip based on our MLB/MiLB rosters and a ceiling of Pedroia/Zobrist and a floor of 6 other players we have in the Top 20. He's got a shot to be a Top 40-50 (MLB) guy next summer and his value will only increase. Hopefully we keep him, I'd much rather trade some of the other younger prospects who are in that same bucket.

Keaschall is listed as 6’ tall, Pedroia 5’9”. So no similarity on height. But may be everything else is similar, and hopefully production at the big league level.

Keaschall’s main position is second base. We can easily surmise other possible positions: shortstop or third in a pinch if he has enough arm, outfield, and first. Question asked and answered.

Should have been answered in the article with no need to ask.
