I read and understood the same. The issue I have is that the Pohlads own diverse businesses and have income and wealth streams from several industries. No one can honestly say that they don’t know people and legal counsel that did anything but tell them. “Your most profitable solution is the kick the can down the road and FOLLOW what others are going to do.” and THEN the PR blew up in their face.

I would like to see them find a local channel as well. This also cements their media revenue as "paltry" going forward, just so there are no illusions about the ramifications of this correct decision. I'm not so sure. As I've stated previously, the expanded TC media market is approximately 4.5 million strong and advertising futures will drive the value of the deal. It always astounded me how the Padres were able to negotiate a substantially better deal with the then FSN RSN than the Twins. Not only is their immediate market smaller but so is their expanded one!

However we do have elimination of the middle man. Diamond/Bally was paying 50 million or whatever they paid to make at least 51 million in return. That middle man is gone.
