i wanted to add a little more here....I googled it and found this.....   I believe it was the conflict of interest Selig's ownership of the Brewers.  

There was also some speculation that Selig targeted the Twins because of his family's ownership of the Milwaukee Brewers, the next closest team to the Twin Cities, and which was set to potentially gain the Twins' market should the team be dissolved.^[7]

Horrible way to start the season.

Can we trade  Joe Pohlad for someone else from the organization? He brought bad karma, and PR to the Twins, poor at PR and negotiating TV contract. Left half the fans in dark for good portion of season.  He is as bad at PR as Carl was. That and he is micromanager that doesn't let the front office improve the  team at critical trade deadline.

Why not just announce to all of the free agents not to sign with us.

Just cut the damn payroll then and keep it quiet.

It's not like 95% of this fan base would even notice.

We of the .05% of Twinkie fans here at TwinsDaily would have noticed, though! 💪🤓

I'll happily root for KC or the Tiggers if the Twins aren't an option.

I did think to comment that things didn't go so well for ol' Brn Kenobi in that first movie. If i had not been in a rehearsal, i might have commented at a game appropriate moment how this would be a day long remembered....
