Rosterman Verified Member Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 A year of learning. Would've been nice to actually send him back down to St. Paul to regularly play a position and work on pitch/bat skills. Tough to do that when in the majors, especially if the eam is looking for the wild card. He has been all over the diamond. Third base, second base, now the regular shortstop, and also playing with different partners on the field. If Correa comes back at short, not sure where he will end up on the field for 2025. There is no time to get comfortable in the majors. You learn on the job. The fielding is excellent. Pitchers dominate. So much information is had and given.

He was rushed due to roster necessity. He's essentially a defensive specialist at SS until Correa is back. He's not on the team for his bat right now. But hopefully the bat will come with more experience.
Linus Verified Member Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 It’s not surprising that he is struggling with the bat. However I am pleasantly surprised at his work in the field. He’s made some mistakes primarily due to rushing plays but his arm is legit and can throw on the run and from different positions. He has soft hands and good instincts even playing three different positions. Assuming he hits he should be the third baseman for a long time. RpR 1
