Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 The Astros have been coming on strong lately. Hoping the Twins can cool them off! Richie the Rally Goat 1
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 Astros have been hot, but the Twins have a clear starting pitching advantage today and tomorrow, and should have an advantage Sunday as well. Bullpen is in as good shape, usage wise, as could be hoped for. Zero reason not to take 2 of 3. Get the first of those W's tonight, Mr Lopez. That's an order. Patzky Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 We'll have an extra bullpen hand in Josh Winder today, for better or worse. Festa returned to the Saints this morning. Does the Sheriff have some cattle rustlers in Chicago to attend to? If you can't trust Festa v. the White sox.. Richie the Rally Goat and Doctor Gast 2

Probably not a trust thing, more a live ammunition in the pen thing. The pale hose game could be anything, maybe Boushey or Varland. I've been hoping the Winders and Canterinos et al would get healthy in enough time to see what they can do out of the pen. Just one of them being solid is a big deal. Need to get a look before the deadline. I wouldn't expect to see the sheriff before the all star break. Richie the Rally Goat, BH67, Shaitan and 1 other 4

BH67 Verified Member Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 Four series this weekend have genuine October vibes: Astros at Twins, Red Sox at Yankees, Phillies at Braves, Brewers at Dodgers.

Doctor Gast Verified Member Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 HOU has been hot, NYY has not, swept by CIN, Hurrah! HOU should be a good test. We should take 2 out of 3. All 3 should be good games. Ryan should win & that'd be good for him. SWR will be interesting, I'm rooting for him. Tonite will be Lopez, winning the 1st game sounds good. I'll miss this game too 🫡
Doctor Gast Verified Member Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 Many are on the HOU bandwagon, Let's cool HOU off!

stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 Go Pablo! I found the head-to-head stats quite interesting. The Twins have scored slightly more runs than Houston, but have a near-identical OPS. The Twins have allowed more runs than Houston despite having better walk and strikeout numbers. The Twins' staff has a lower OPS against and opponents BA and a lower WHIP. The one pitching area where Houston is significantly better is home runs allowed, yet Houston has allowed about a third of a run per game less than the Twins.
Patzky Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 Not gonna get the low call Pablo. Might as well stop.
Shaitan Verified Member Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 Diaz sees as many pitches as Twins in the entire 1st inning.
