RpR Verified Member Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 https://www.mlb.com/news/blake-snell-impact-on-giants-2024 Having finished five games shy of a postseason spot in 2023 and six games out in 2022, the Giants were much too familiar with what it’s like to be good enough to not be good enough. But now, with Snell strengthening the rotation and seemingly completing a recent flurry of activity by the Farhan Zaidi-led front office, the projections tell us the Giants might finally be good enough. nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 They should have some top end pitching, even is Snell takes a step back as he tends to do, but even if they make the playoffs, I wouldn't expect much from a team who's best hitter is LaMonte Wade. I know they must be pretty excited as they did make big moves in free agency finally, but Matt Chapman is only an average hitter these days and going to SF doesn't tend to improve on that. Maybe Soler will be good again, but he tends to be really inconsistent year to year.
JD-TWINS Verified Member Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 Padres have gotten their roster together over the past 8 weeks, 88 win team. D-Backs should be similar to better this year, so, 90 wins. Dodgers potentially 105 wins. Giants seem to be locked into a punishing Division. I do not see their offense being good enough. Starters can put some good innings in to keep them close in games!
