Funderburk setting himself up for the “Win, scorer’s decision.”

I had lunch with official scorer Stew Thornley recently. He said that this year, thanks in part to the pitch-clock operator being added to their crew and in part to the reality of betting, they have been moved from the general press box to being isolated in one of the extra broadcast media booths. Until the game is over and he’s made his decision, he’s not allowed to give anyone a sense as to where he’s leaning with that decision, for fear it will get tweeted and allow folks to slap down a late bet.

Concur. I still don’t like that they are wearing Marlins caps, but I like the rest of the kit.
