Given what we've experienced from the Twins so far this season, I see no reason why anything should (or will) change.  With that in mind, I honestly believe the Twins are done for 2023.  Anyone of the the three closest teams behind them (Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago) is capable of passing the Twins over the remainder of the season.  If you ask me who that will be?  Likely Cleveland or Detroit (maybe both?).  And as of this posting, Cleveland is only a half game back with three games in hand.  It's over.

What makes this doubly hard to take, is the fact that the Twins have had close to half the season to figure things out, and have not done so.  I like Mr Baldelli.  I wish him well.  But he's one of the big reasons this team is not getting it done.  I understand baseball is a transient game.  There is an ebb and flow.  And yes, we can point to many other issues.  Correa's and Kepler's underwhelming play.  Continued bullpen woes.  Injuries.  And on.  But IMHO, it's ultimately the coach's job to make adjustments and win games.  He's not doing his job.  When I'm not doing my job, I'm fired.  Period.  So I'm changing the channel from here on from MLB to the NFL in preparation for an interesting season of football.  If/when the Twins decide to make some real corrective action, then I'll consider changing the channel back...

Then when 29 managers are fired at the end of this season, which one would you propose to hire, given their track record of abject failure?

I hate to say this, but come trade deadline I'd prefer to sell any pending free agents we have and try again next year.  (certainly not in a position to buy with what I've seen) We have a good core, but won't be big players in the playoffs.  I think still a chance to make to post season as we are, even minus a couple of guys that we could trade away for the future.  Think we could even still win that 1 playoff game that's eluded us.
