Would have been believable save for the slash line.

You know you are having a good year when your batting average drops to.317. On the other hand, you know you are not having a good year, when your average improves to .190.

On other topic, when will we are going to learn that Cole De Vries is not really healthy? One, two weeks from now? A month?

Twins training staff has to be the worst. So many odd and misdiagnosed injuries over the past few years...

The Twins for years have been stuffing Rochester chock full with filler career AAAA guys, understandable to some degree to maintain a good relationship with the community owners; but has that trend now been picked up at New Britain, as well? Antoan Richardson (since moved to Roc.), Curt Smith, now Parraz and Petit? I thought the organization was awash in OF prospects???

Was De Vries injury misdiagnosed? Once they checked on it, they were right and shut him down, then sent him to Ft. Myers, then he made 3 rehab starts and now he's in Rochester. He's still working his way back, but I don't think this has anything to do with the medical staff. That's just an easy excuse.

Buxton's stats for full season: ".317/.420/.559, 39 2B, 15 3B, 27 HR, 131 RBI, 112 BB and 73 SB.

That being said: The Kernels would have 5 guys with over 100+ RBI and 20+ HRs with the above rationale:

Harrison 27 HRs & 101 RBI

Polanco 40 Doubles & 131 RBI

Buxton (See above)

Hicks 20 HRs / 48 Doubles / 131 RBI

Walker 37 HRs / 39 Doubles / 15 Triples / 170 RBI

They also have 6 guys targeting the 100+ Runs scored marker!!

 

Most people probably believe that something has to give. But - even if the Kernels statistically start to level off - These above guys are each looking at one special season.

It feels significant to me that colabello played his 2nd game in a row in the outfield. Writing on the wall?

 

Clearly trying to see if he can come up and play RF/DH/1B, and not just sit on the bench.

Maybe misdiagnosed isn't the right word but it seems like guys are always suffering seemingly minor injuries that linger and instead of going straight to the DL theyll sometimes occupy roster spots for a week or 2 then go on. I thought the initial word on Devries was just forearm tightness and they were shutting him down as a precaution and they didn't think he'd be out long?

Jeremey, you say the bats in Rochester "did not do much better" than the pitching. They scored 5 runs, that's A LOT better than the pitching.

Colabello had a home run. They had five hits total, I believe. Pitching was brutal, offense (minus Colabello) almost as horrible.
