He was bad before he got here and we tried to fix him. We spent an entire year 'fixing' him and what did it get us. Why does the F.O. (whom I support more than many) want to spend a second year trying to fix him when the Padres couldn't, and we already spent a year failing at it? According to Gleeman last season: Emilio Pagán has a 4.82 ERA and 29 homers allowed in 123 innings since 2020. During that time ... - No reliever has thrown more innings with a worse ERA - He's allowed the most home runs per nine innings of any reliever - He has the worst Win Probability Added of any reliever. Why would we spend any time trying to fix this? Move on. Three years! I don't get the hubris here at all ...
CoasterProductions Verified Member Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 He should have been traded at the deadline. We need to straight up release him and sign a better reliever. There are still several on the market that would be improvements over anything pagan has. I would replace him with either Knebel or Britton but most likely Knebel due to actually playing and not being nearly 40
lecroy24fan Verified Member Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Knebel is hurt and Britton is injury prone.

Jocko87 Verified Member Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Thinks the Mets would be interested? We owe them a favor anyway.
Fatbat Verified Member Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Id like to see him develop a knuckleball. I simply cant be a fan of his until he throws one for a big wiff of some AAA guy in Toledo….
