stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Hicks apparently benched for missing the cutoff man in the fifth inning last night. Carroll starts at short and leads off, Mauer DH, Doom behind the plate.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Hopefully Hicks's stay at R. Clyde Gardenhire Acres VIP Kennels will be a short one.

He's batting .400 (8/20), with a .455 OBP since getting his semi-regular assignments on April 21.

jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Like our chances tonight against Dempster. The Twins are batting .320/.393/.493/.889 against Dempster for his career. He has only gone 7 innings twice in 6 starts so far this year, and the Red Sox bullpen is in severe disarray.
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I like sitting Hicks for that mistake. His defense has been C- so far. And I think Gardy's doghouse has evolved into a short-term stay type of establishment.

snepp Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 It's a good thing the game is moved to FSN+, otherwise I wouldn't be able to watch the madden challenge (or whatever ridiculous waste of programming this is) on FSN. Someone is really on the ball at FSN.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Hello... Is this thing on? Testing One two Three.
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 We'll hit well tonight. There's a reason my buddies and I call him "The Dumpster," even though it's way too obvious for a good nickname.
snepp Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I'm glad the Twins didn't go Dumpster Diving this offseason. Hur, hur, hur.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Wind blowing out to left.... Wait a second.... I'm in North Dakota. The wind here probably won't matter in beantown.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Hello... Is this thing on? Testing One two Three. Nope, not coming through. Try standing on your head.

They say a butterfly in South America can cause a hurricane up north; I'm sure your breaking wind in Grand Forks could affect the game tonight.

The wind always blows west in Boston, because New York sucks. Is there ever a bad time for a joke at the Yankees expense?

And I think Gardy's doghouse has evolved into a short-term stay type of establishment. If it's just a day off, for the purposes of giving him a day off, I'm fine with it. If he's getting punished, well, see my other Gardy thread.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Ramirez needs to play sometime. Tonight's the Night
Fatt Crapps Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Why is storage wars on instead of the Twins?

No one else even try.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 So far, the jinx is working. Thanks, brother Jokin. Can you please switch to telling us how he's a shoo-in for the Cy this year?

Last night we talked about the Kaos effect... Tonight it's the Chaos Effect... You gotta love Twins Daily.
Fatt Crapps Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Why is storage wars on instead of the Twins? They fixed it. Thank God.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Ramirez needs to play sometime. Tonight's the Night Massachusetts state law? Little known CBA proviso? Why?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 We'll hit well tonight. There's a reason my buddies and I call him "The Dumpster," even though it's way too obvious for a good nickname. What reason would that be? He's been a solid #2 almost every season for about a decade now.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Florimon would've fielded that one. / and then thrown it away for an extra base
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Massachusetts state law? Little known CBA proviso? Why? Otherwise the player gets dull. If I didn't do my job for 10 days, I'd be rusty. I'd imagine professional ball players suffer from this even more so, since it's much harder to play MLB than to manage a retail store.
