Draft pick signings

Here’s the mlb.com page where all signings for the Twins 2022 draftees are listed. They have until August 1 to sign all of their picks.

No one has signed yet, but have to assume Brooks Lee will sign soon - will he get slot of $5.4mm? It’s also assumed that Connor Prielipp might get more than the $1.6mm slot.

Starting this thread to keep track of the signings and to discuss.  Copying the top ten picks from mlb.com:

This says Lee is signed, Schobel and Ortega have agreed to terms, each is pending physical.

Ted SchwerzIer is the only source I could find that says Lee has agreed to terms. I find no source other than the TD tracker that says Lee has signed. 

Edit: The TD tracker also says Schobel and Ortega have signed. I find no other source that says either one has even agreed to terms.

Has Ted Schwerzler really scooped the rest of the baseball world on these players?

That is very fancy, sorry for duplicating.  I saw it featured, but I thought it was for the draft itself, not related to signings.

Sometimes the Twins website or MLB website doesn’t update their lists as quickly as seeing the teams or players post on Twitter or ig that they’ve signed. So, if you are checking the websites, yes, you won’t see the news as fast unless you are following Twitter. So, it’s not that anyone has scooped the baseball world, they are just relying on sources that get the news out faster than what you may be following. In any case, TD’s tracker is also pretty quick .,, again, because they are following quicker sources.

Cool. I don't do Twitter or any other instant internet communication, but I did do a Google search with several different search parameters and still found no corroboration anywhere other than Ted's tweet about agreeing to terms.

No other report of any signings by any draft picks. I'm starting to wonder about Mr. Schwerzler's sources. But, since it's a weekend I'll wait until tomorrow and see if anything is announced.

Part of the reason info is out on Twitter before the teams announce, is teams often 'make it official' in person, and they don't announce until they can arrange that in person press conference. A formality. But, the ones I mentioned that are in the Draft tracker, are accurate, giving amount information. Two of the ones I mentioned were 'pending physical' on now done deals. If you want to wait until the formality of a press conference announcement, that is your prerogative, but please don't 'cast shade' on contributors who work hard to bring information to the site.

Jim Calis tweeted that Connor Prielipp signed for 1.825 million.  The top of this draft could not have gone better for the twins.

Lee and Prielipp were amazing picks and they could both be really good and playing at Target Field in three years.

Pleasantly surprised that we got our high school SS in the later rounds. Definitely didn’t think that would get done. Overall really nice job getting the guys signed. Will be interesting to hear how much they got

Holy cow ... they went wild in the last 24 hours.  Round 1-18 picks all signed.  Garret McMillan (19th round) announced he was returning to Alabama and Korbyn Dickerson (20th) round already announced he was going to fulfill his commitment to Louisville.  That's a wrap on 2022 signings.
